Top 10 Winter Wedding Tips

India enjoys extreme climates. Summers are hot and humid while winters are chilly and dry. So quite naturally, couples prefer winters for their wedding where there is no sweating involved. But planning a winter wedding needs precision. Just take a note of the following ten most important tips that you need to follow while preparing for a winter wedding.

Choosing the right attire
Wear a bridal dress that not only accentuates your beauty and charm but also keeps you warm. Go in for heavily embroidered lehenga or designer sarees. Let a Stoll or a slim shawl fall from your shoulders down. For grooms, Sherwanis will be the best attire, as they will make you look stylish, royal and tepid.

Rent tents
If you are planning a wedding outside that too in winters, you need to make necessary arrangements so that your guests don’t get frozen up. Rent a few tents and make arrangements to keep it warm. Say for example, central heating which will keep the atmosphere warm and bearable.

Get a theme
Keep a thematic wedding party. Winters are cold but it is cosy too which makes the occasion romantic. Go in for combination of warm and cool colours. Since it’s a wedding, use white and red blend for the décor. It will accentuate the grand feeling even when the outside is chilly.

Flower decorations
Rather than using multi-colour lights, opt for flowers of every kind to adorn the tents or the wedding hall. Not only it makes the occasion naturally beautiful but also makes it refreshingly serene and pristine. Everyone likes flowers and so involuntarily your wedding becomes their favourite.

Drinks to go
If it’s a Punjabi wedding, drinks will be a quintessential element. But refrain from going overboard with it. Wine works great in such occasions. Red wine or the combination of wines spreads warmth across the guests.

Hot beverages
People who don’t drink or in weddings, where hard drinks doesn’t feature in the scheme of things, arrange for something else for them. Say for example flavour tea, coffees of all concoctions and many other things.

Starters and main course
Keep your guests adequately fed. Before the main course, see to it, that they are served some hot samosas, pakoras or other light snacks. Try to serve the main course hot because it’s a winter wedding. If possible, get the waiters to serve them at their tables.

Bring the music on
Keep the mood melodious by switching on lilting piano tunes while the guests are seated. You can have your own DJ night post dinner.

Candles around
Light up scented candles all around the wedding venue to add a majestic aura to your wedding. It spread a soothing charm all round.

Entertain your guests
Arrange for some kind of entertainment for your guests. Like a band playing some music or group dancers.
