Bollywood actress, Sharmin Segal, who was recently seen in the web series, Heeramandi The Diamond Bazaar, has been receiving flak for her poor performance in the Netflix show. For the unversed, Sharmin is filmmaker, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s niece, and her casting in the web show ignited the debate around nepotism. Recently, the cast of Heeramandi indulged in a roast session, done in the style of a mushaira, which was hosted by stand-up comedian, Munawar Faruqui. It featured Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala and Sharmin Segal having a face off against Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjeeda Shaikh.
Now, a video of Sonakshi Sinha, who plays the role of 'Fareedan' in the web series, has surfaced online, wherein she was seen roasting Sharmin Segal during the mushaira event. In the clip, Sonakshi roasted Sharmin, claiming that the latter showed up on the Heeramandi set without preparing her dialogues and insisted on wrapping up early. In the video, which also features Munawar Faruqui, Sonakshi was heard saying:
"Sharmin ko har din set ka wrap jaldi karwana tha. Raat main jaldi so jaati thi, agle din school bhi toh jaana tha. Sharmin din bhar jitne Gen Z alfaaz ratt jaati hai, kaash kisi din set pe aane se pehle apne dialogues bhi yaad karke aati."

After Sonakshi, it was Sharmin's turn to take centre stage, and the latter roasted Sonakshi for being ‘a fraud’ based on her character in the show. Sharmin slammed Sanjeeda Shaikh, aka 'Waheeda', for betraying her own sister to be friends with a fraud. She was heard saying:
"Sanjeeda Heeramandi me Waheeda bani hai, is baat par ek sher arz karna chahungi. Waheeda ke naseeb mein batua hai khali, Fareedan se kya dosti karogi wo khud hai jaali. Chhoti beehn hoke dushman se haath milati ho, ye kar ke apni khud ki aukaat girati ho."
Sharmin Segal's remarks apparently left Sanjeeda Shaikh shocked, and her expressions in the video were proof of the same. She was seen gasping with her mouth open and looking at Sonakshi in surprise. However, Sonakshi ensured to clap back at Sharmin and commented:
"Aaj kal ke naa ye bache.."

Indeed, the roast video was a delight to watch, and every statement was a perfect comeback. However, when the video was shared on Reddit, several netizens flooded the comment section to express their disappointment on Sharmin's poor dialogue delivery skills. A user penned, "I love how Sharmin couldn’t even give any expression now as well." Another commented, "Here she goes, here she goes again killing the vibee againn."
