Looking back at Bollywood over the years, one can find a number of ugly spats and fights between fellow actors. While some may be due to unintentional remarks, some others might have been due to some snap judgements and loss of temper made at certain instances.
One such notable fight in B-Town had happened between the two superstars, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan. Being bonafide artists and supremely talented actors, while the duo has never shared the screen space together, but had maintained a cordial relation with one another for a long time. But things changed when Salman Khan made a rather rude comment on Hrithik’s film, Guzaarish.

It so happened that both Hrithik and Salman had graced a show for the physically challenged, back in the year 2010. During a banter on screen, Salman Khan made an ungraceful comment on Hrithik Roshan’s then released film, Guzaarish, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. For the unversed, despite the immense hardwork of the actors, the film was not able to receive a positive response at the box-office, and Salman had therefore taken a jibe on it. In his words:
“Arre, usme toh makhi udd rahi thi, lekin koi machhar bhi nahi gaya dekhne. Arre, koi kutta bhi nahin gaya.”
Well, obviously such a remark did offend the leading actor of the film, Hrithik Roshan. He got hurt by the comments, and soon after bared his heart out in an interview with The Times Of India. Calling such a reaction unexpected, Hrithik had mentioned:
"I've always known Salman to be a good man, someone I've looked up to and admired and still do. He's always been a hero and always will be. But yes, it's not heroic to laugh or make fun of a filmmaker just because his box office collections are not up there with yours."

Hrithik did not stop at this, and further expressed his hurt, since he could not believe that Salman would say such things about a director with whom he has worked with. In his words:
“I will be hurt if anyone talks like this about Mr Bhansali. In my opinion a hero never gloats. When you are super successful, it should in fact make you more gracious and loving.”
Although, gradually the matter died and it was Hrithik himself who felt the need to forget all grudges and was ready to forgive Salman for his momentary loss of judgement. However, the expected patch-up did not happen anytime soon. That same year, the duo attended a common birthday bash of fellow actor and Salman’s brother, Sohail Khan. However, the duo had kept an arm’s distance from one another completely.
It was just before Salman’s scheduled treatment for a nerve disorder in 2017, when Hrithik Roshan broke the ice and paid the latter a visit. After that, all ill-wills were forgotten, and the duo gave their friendship a complete restart. In one of the later interviews with DNA, Hrithik had spoken his heart out about his bonding with Salman, post the spat. Calling him his mentor, Hrithik had said:
“While he's always been one of my mentors and seniors, I think Salman is probably the only person I can speak to, on the same level. Salman allows me to speak to him like a friend, like we're equals and that is his graciousness and humility. He never speaks to me like he knows more than me, but levels with me like a friend, man-to-man, and that is his greatness."
