Veteran actress, Jaya Bachchan is well-known for her unfiltered opinions and controversial remarks. Married to superstar, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya is a doting mommy to her two kids, Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan. Despite being a woman of few words, Jaya Bachchan speaks at length when it comes to talking about things which are close to her heart. And she never shies away from calling a spade a spade, no matter what the situation is.
It was in 2007 when the former Miss World, Aishwarya Rai entered the Bachchan clan after tying the knot with actor, Abhishek Bachchan. Abhishek and Aishwarya had a royal yet incredibly intimate wedding ceremony and very selective people were invited to the event. Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan were the happiest to welcome Aish as their bahu. And since then, Jaya has been the most loving mother-in-law to Aishwarya and often heaps praises on her.

There have been a lot of instances that have clearly shown that Jaya Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are quite fond of each other. Time and again, we have seen Jaya getting extremely protective of Aish and taking a stand for her. One such incident took place in 2013 when Jaya schooled the photographers after they addressed her bahu as 'Aishwarya'. Clearly, it didn't go well with Jaya, who ended up lashing out at the paps.
It so happened that when the two Bachchan ladies attended Subhash Ghai’s party together, they happily posed for the shutterbugs. However, one of the photographers tried to attract Aishwarya's attention and called her by her first name, asking her to pose. Well, being the over-protective mother-in-law, Jaya got furious and lashed out at the photographer for his misbehaviour. An angry Jaya was heard saying:
"Kya Aishwarya Aishwarya bula rahe ho, tumhare class mein padhti thi kya?”

Earlier, a video from one of the Kabaddi matches of Abhishek Bachchan’s team, Jaipur Pink Panthers, surfaced online wherein he can be seen sitting with his wife, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and their daughter, Aaradhya in the stands. In the video, Abhishek was seen telling Aishwarya something, after which the latter seemingly rolled her eyes. Well, not just this, she was also seen snapping at his niece, Navya Naveli Nanda, who was sitting beside her. The video became the topic of discussion among netizens and has been grabbing many eyeballs. Meanwhile, people also compared both Jaya and Aishwarya's anger and called it the same.

During her appearance on the popular chat show, Koffee With Karan, in 2007, Jaya Bachchan was asked if she discussed her problems with bahu, Aishwarya Rai, after her daughter, Shweta Bachchan got married. To everyone's surprise, Jaya had said that she would want Aishwarya to shoulder all her family burdens. However, Jaya also lauded Aishwarya and mentioned how the latter stays grounded. Jaya could be quoted as saying:
"She is lovely. I love her. I have always loved her. I have never ever seen her push herself whenever we are all together. I like that quality of hers to stand behind. She is quiet. She listens and she is taking it all in. And another beautiful thing is that she has fitted in so well in the family. She knows who are our good friends."
Indeed, Jaya Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are the most understanding saas-bahu duo in B-Town.
