It was the summer of 2013 when the couple first met for an ad shoot, and within seconds they felt the sparks. Even though the couple tried to keep their relationship away from the media glare, but the fans and gossipmongers' speculations and sharp eyes made it seem that nothing can stay under the wraps. And we still remember Sri Lanka-India match in Hyderabad, where Virat had scored a half-century and had blown a kiss with his bat for his ladylove, Anushka, in the midst of millions of fans and camera. Recently, in an interaction with the media, Virat was asked about his experience of being in the team before marriage and after marriage, and he won many hearts with his perfect reply. The cricketer stated, "You become responsible, that is what I feel. Before you have the responsibility in your life but that is very different. You start understanding things better (after marriage) and start putting things into perspective a lot more. From that point of view, I have become more responsible and that helps you in captaincy as well. It has only improved my captaincy as a human being and player outside." We remember how once at India Today Mind Rocks 2018, Anushka had labeled her relationship with Virat ‘as normal as anyone else’s’, and had shared, “Both of us really love doing what we do professionally... We don't take our professions too seriously. We don't draw our identity only from that. We are very simple and like doing normal things. For the world, it is about our professions. But in reality, it is as normal as anyone would be in a relationship.”

Earlier, Virat had talked about his wife and how she is the riding force to keep working, and had shared, “My wife has been keeping me motivated throughout, she deserves a lot of credit for this. She has been criticized a lot in the past, but she is one person who has kept me going throughout this tour and when times have been tough, and I am really grateful for that. When I met my wife I began to change. I came from a very different background from north India and I had no idea of what happens in any other sphere of society or anyone else’s life.
