One of the most important award ceremonies in the Indian film industry, The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards took place in Abu Dhabi on May 27, 2023. The event was attended by some of the biggest and A-listed celebrities in the entertainment industry. The grand event was filled with glitz and glamour as renowned celebrities captivated the audience with their extraordinary performances.
However, amidst the star-studded affair, a particular performance by Bollywood actor, Varun Dhawan and ace dancer, Nora Fatehi has become the centre of attention on social media, but unfortunately, not for the right reasons. The duo's fusion act, which included the timeless song ‘Shava Shava’ from the iconic film, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, with their hit chartbuster, ‘Garmi’ from the film, Street Dancer 3D, has led a section of society to troll the duo.
Talking about the viral video of Varun Dhawan and Nora Fatehi's performance at the IIFA Awards, both of them put their best foot forward in their intense performance. However, instead of receiving praises from people, the duo is facing a lot of criticism from social media users on Reddit, who termed their performance ‘cringe’. The shared clip on Reddit showcased Varun approaching Nora while flawlessly executing the hook step of their popular song ‘Garmi Garmi’ on the dance floor. The idea of both Varun and Nora doing the hook step looked quite absurd to many people.
