Din Shagna Da Chadheya…Aao Sakhiyon Ni Vehra Sajeya…Haan…many of you for whom marriage is still a distant dream might have already imagined the big walk down the aisle when you go towards your prince charming. As you walk towards him, tumults of thoughts wander in your mind, ‘What have I done to deserve someone like him? Will each other’s company be the same as it used to be before marriage? Will our conflicting interests enable us to become each other’s permanent roommates for life? Oh, whatever, he is mine now!’ These are some of the thoughts which run in a newbie bride’s mind and we bet the similar things were floating in Anushka Sharma’s mind when she was walking towards Virat Kohli, with the background score of Din Shagna Da. It was on the spectacular night of December 11, 2017, when Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli took to Instagram and had posted two dreamy pictures from their Italy wedding with all of their fans. The caption that they had written could be read as, “Today we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you. This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans & well-wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey.”
Their Italy wedding was followed by two wedding receptions- one in Delhi for people belonging to the political fraternity and the other one in Mumbai, a star-studded night, for their industry friends. Anushka Sharma had looked beautiful in a red Benarasi Sabyasachi saree and Virat had looked every bit of royal in a badhgala with a shawl, sprung in one side of his arm. While more details about their attire later, let us take you on a flashback and give you a glimpse of a beautiful memory from their Delhi reception. An unseen picture from their reception has emerged wherein famous Punjabi singer, Gurdas Mann had performed and Anushka is seen dancing crazily with Virat, which serves as another example as to how much this Bolly-cricket couple loves dancing! Here’s the image:
Right from her engagement, mehendi, wedding, until her two star-studded receptions, Anushka Sharma was a top-to-toe Sabyasachi Mukherjee bride! Through an Instagram post, the celebrity designer had explained Anushka’s Delhi reception look and had stated, “I don’t think Indian brides feel complete without wearing the colour red in one of their functions. Anushka decided to wear red on her reception. And much to my absolute delight, it would be a red Benarasi saree. From the by-lanes of Peeli Kothi in Benaras. I was particularly excited about this look because I have seen an entire generation of Bengali women getting married in red Benarasi sarees.” (Must Read: Virat Kohli's Gentlemanly Love For Anushka Sharma On Their Candlelight Dinner Date Is So Endearing)
Sabyasachi Mukherjee had further added, “The red bindi, the sindoor and the mogras in her hair just made the look more potent and powerful. She chose to wear heritage uncut diamond choker and jhumkas from the Sabyasachi Bridal Jewelry collection. Bollywood can play a major role in spreading awareness about Indian textiles and handlooms. And I must say the occasion couldn’t be better. I know copies of this saree will flood the entire country in the next few months to come, which also means that a million weaver’s children will be back at school. All I can say is thank you Anushka!"
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli had completed a year of marital bliss on December 11, 2018, and the couple had taken to Instagram and posted some beautiful pictures and videos from their wedding. Sharing their wedding video, Virat had captioned it as, “Can't believe it's been a year already because it feels like it happened just yesterday. Time has truly flown by. Happy anniversary to my best friend and my soulmate. Mine forever @anushkasharma”, while Anushka had written, “It's heaven, when you don't sense time passing by ... It's heaven, when you marry a good 'man'...” Here are some of the glimpses from the same:
In an interview with Vogue magazine, Anushka Sharma had shared some interesting details about her wedding. Talking about the same, the Zero actress had stated, “We even used fake names while talking to the caterer; I think Virat’s was Rahul.” She had further added, “We wanted to have a home-style wedding. There were only 42 people there, with all our friends and family present. I wanted it to be about Virat and me marrying each other, and not this big celebrity wedding. The energy at our wedding was blessed.” (Also Read: Kiran Srinivas Of 'Dahleez' Fame Gets Engaged To Kannada Film Actress, Hitha Chandrashekar)
