The heir to the Reliance Group, Akash Ambani had proposed his childhood sweetheart, Shloka Mehta during a weekend break in Goa, followed by a lavish engagement ceremony in a plush five-star resort by the families. While Akash wore a nautical line T-shirt and white pants along with a blue blazer, his better-half, Shloka looked stunning in a rather unusual gown, which wasn’t too blingy or OTT.
And now, we have stumbled upon an unseen picture of Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta sharing a fun candid moment at their engagement ceremony in Goa. While Akash can be seen embarrassed of something and is hiding his face, Shloka, on the other hand, has ‘see I told you so’ expression with a big smile on her face. With every picture or video that emerges on social media of Akash and Shloka, the first words that come to our mind are, ‘a match made in heaven’!
When Shloka Mehta’s first look came out from her engagement ceremony, what had caught everyone’s attention was her dove grey-coloured gown. Given a closer look, the netizens noticed that her gown’s design was similar to Alia Bhatt’s gown that she had worn at IFFI Awards. The chic gown was from a London-based designer website, Needle And Thread. It was from their bridal autumn/winter 2017 collection. The stunning piece had been named ‘Marie Gown’ and the one Shloka wore was in dove grey colour. This antique lace dress was delicately embroidered, and it had ruffled frills in the lower half. This subtle dress was price tagged to be £875 (Rs 80,500 approximately).
Post getting engaged, Shloka Mehta had talked about the bond that she shares with Akash Ambani and keeping pace with her relationship despite their hectic schedules. Shloka was then quoted as saying, “Despite years and busy schedules, we have always found ways to stay connected. Akash is incredibly grounded, and we share a bond based on meaning and memories. We don't just get along - we also support each other's hopes and aspirations and are determined to build a sense of purpose into our lives together. In a 2018 interview, Nita Ambani was all-praises about her then soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Shloka Mehta and had stated, “I have known Shloka since she was four and we are all delighted to welcome her to our home and our hearts.” Akash Ambani also talked about his then-to-be wife, Shloka Mehta and was quoted as saying, “I am truly happy that our friendship has blossomed into love and Shloka and I are getting married, she is a truly special and extremely kind-hearted person.”
The newest member of the Ambani family, Shloka Mehta is the director of the Rosy Blue Foundation and co-founder of ConnectFor, which matches volunteers with NGOs that need them. Dressed in casuals, the Ambani clan was all smiles for the camera as they posed for a happy family photograph. It was the first picture of Shloka Mehta post her wedding with Akash Ambani and she could be seen twinning with her darling husband in their monochrome look, on a casual outing with her in-laws.
