Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar are redefining parenthood by creating a healthy environment for their son, Aarav Kumar and daughter, Nitara. The kids often feature on their parents' Instagram feeds and we remember once, Twinkle had shared dinner pictures cooked by her teenage son, Aarav. Along with the pictures of her dinner and dessert, she had written, "My teenager makes us dinner and dessert all by himself :) On the menu- mushroom risotto, miso avocado salad, chicken skewers and chocolate souffle. #proudmomma."
Twinkle and Akshay are trying hard to instil the right values in their kids and become their 'friends on call' whenever the need arises. On January 22, 2020, Twinkle took to her Instagram handle and revealed in her post that her son, Aarav has saved her number as 'Police'. And Twinkle being Twinkle, she shared an appropriate picture to go with the name. Her caption can be read as "Considering my son has saved my number as ‘Police’ on his phone I suppose this is rather apt."
Twinkle had a successful acting career, despite that she has often claimed that she regrets joining Bollywood. In an interview with NDTV, Twinkle had shared that her son, Aarav often tease her for acting. She had shared, "Lately, my son has started doing a nasty thing, where he keeps replaying this one scene he's got on YouTube, where I'm apparently kissing some man's nipple. And he keeps showing me this again and again and he keeps making these jokes! And yeah, so, I actually think I should, I don't know, blind myself or blind him. I'm not sure which!" On Aarav's 17th birthday, Twinkle had shared a funny post for him. Sharing his picture, she had written, "Happy birthday! ‘Flesh of my flesh and blood of my blood’ I know that you have always said ‘Mom stop saying these weird things! ’ but it is the truth, you have my cells and I have yours -leftovers hanging around in my brain or at least that’s what science claims. #birthdayboy #thebest."
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Akshay had talked about his son's future plans and had shared, "He is just a 16-year-old kid, who is enjoying his life. There’s no need to discuss his career right now and put pressure on him. I feel that [kids feeling pressure] will happen only if parents – in a way – put some kind of burden. I am very clear that whether my kids want to become a painter, doctor or open a restaurant, I am fine."
