Tinaa Datta Of 'Uttaran' Fame Opens Up On Her Marriage Plans Post An Abusive Relationship

There is nothing more beautiful than love! But when it starts taking a toll on your mental health then it is time to say goodbye because there is no use to stay with someone, who no longer grows you. But the sad reality of us millennials is that we often confuse 'obsession' with 'love' and 'toxic relationship' with 'trying our best'. And that's exactly what television actress, Tinaa Datta thought when she stayed in an abusive relationship for five years. (Recommend Read: Arpita Khan Sharma Reveals Her Due Date And What Was The Khan-Daan's Reaction To Her Pregnancy)

Earlier, this year, Tina of Uttaran fame had made it to the headlines when she had revealed details about her abusive relationship. And the unhappy relationship took a toll on actress' confidence and it took her a lot of courage to come out of it.

Recently, in an interview with the Hindustan Times, Tina opened up on her marriage plans. She revealed, "I’ve consciously decided to focus on my life. I would love to settle down but I haven’t met the right person. I’m out of an abusive relationship and want to settle down in life but not with someone from the industry." Talking about the qualities, she is looking for in a partner, the actress shared, "He should be loyal to me, respect people and should be a nice guy." (Also Read: Sara Ali Khan And Ibrahim Ali Khan Set Festive Mood Right With Their First Magazine Cover Together)

In the same interview, Tina also shared how she regrets not taking up a stand for herself. She stated, "I should have told him that it is over. I don’t blame the guy completely because I was also at a very tender age when I fell in love. I was so blinded in love that I thought it was okay for me to put up with an abusive relationship and allowed him to treat me the way he wished. But it was not okay. If a guy raises a hand on you, that means he is not man enough. One shouldn’t let anybody take you for granted and nobody has the right to disrespect you and take away your peace and happiness from you."

In an interview with the Mumbai Mirror, Tina had talked about her abusive relationship in detail. She had shared, "I was in a relationship with a non-industry guy for five years. We had met through common friends. But I called time on it, because he was extremely abusive, verbally and physically. I would get bashed up even in front of my friends. I went bonkers to the extent that my confidence took a beating. I never wanted to go public with my relationship, but I feel that it's time to speak up."

In a 2016 interview with SpotboyE, Tina had revealed that she never wanted to date an industry person. She had said, "I don’t wish to date anybody from the industry, because there are many insecurities. I am practical. If I marry an actor and God forbid, if he doesn’t have a show, no matter how much we love each other, male ego will come in between. I may sound rude or blunt, but that’s the reality. I want a stable and secure relationship." (Don't Miss: Kalki Koechlin Talks About Pregnancy, Says She Will Not Get Married Because Of Societal Pressure)
