Yes, the COVID-19 outbreak in the world has made many couples, who were all set to take the vows after planning for months to pause their plan. But there are couples, who just cannot handle the distance and the anxiety, so they are planning to opt for a small virtual wedding for the relatives and family, who cannot attend it. The official Instagram handle of designer, Anita Dongre had shared the details of this unique wedding in the wake of COVID-19 world. The long caption had revealed how the duo met by the bride herself. She had shared, "We met on the dating app Hinge. We decided to meet at a wine bar in Brooklyn, NYC for our very first date. I remember thinking “he’s cute! It was right after our first date I got home at 2-3 am, I started crying tears of joy because deep down, I had this feeling of recognition that he was the person for me” when he walked through the door."
Talking about the big proposal, here are the details of the same which was shared by the bride, "Sai went to India in June 2019 to tell his family about his intention to marry me. He then asked my parents for their permission. On September 9, 2019, Sai proposed to me while we were looking at the stars on the Big Island of Hawaii. It was private and beautiful." The bride had further revealed the decision of the virutal wedding and had shared, "We were originally supposed to have a Vedic ceremony on April 26th, as it was an auspicious date. When the stay-at-home orders came, it prompted us to start calling the local clerks to get a marriage license so that we could still get married on that date."
The bride further shared how the wedding was hosted virtually and had said, "Surprisingly, it was just as powerful and moving. It met both of our seemingly competing desires - to have a small private ceremony, but also share it with our family and friends, who all joined us on Zoom, but as soon as we turned the camera off, it was just us, and we got to spend the day just being together and savouring that moment. We had a friend get ordained & officiate the wedding on Zoom. We had Lakshmi & Vishnu pujas offered for us in India. We met Sai’s parents on FaceTime. At 11 am, our families and close friends joined us. We played a pre-recorded video of me and my friends singing the refrain of “Bhagyada Lakshmi Baramma.” For our vows, we took some of the words we would have said during the 7-steps and adapted them, at the end of which we exchanged garlands we had made the night before."
