And, here we have one of the cute love stories of a real couple Jyotika and Rishabh. So, let’s have a look at their entire fairytale wedding story. Scroll on!

How they met

Real Wedding

The bride, Jyotika calls herself an academician, a professor and someone who holds a great interest in writing articles and reciting poems. Theirs is a love marriage, but there was nothing like Raj, Simran of DDLJ nor it is a “love at first sight” kind of a story. So, what happened was that these two techies met at a conference and developed respect for each other. She said:

“Respect was like a common bone on our plate that we both preserved for each other.”

And then, gradually this beautiful damsel and smart, fashionable and humorous technical geek from IIT Bombay fell for each other.

Love is in the air

This is what defines them as a couple:

“We both see ourselves putting efforts to understand each other’s nature and simply moving on to explore varied aspects of life. Watching theatre, attending poetry events, going to watch the different dance forms, music festivals, exploring new dishes in different restaurants, filling our shelves with new books all the time, writing humorous poems and articles, reciting poems for each other are few of the activities that define us as a couple together.”

And when the two people who have same interest decide on forever, there can be nothing better than that. So, in this case, too, their common interests is what making them ever more close to each other with each passing day. Jyotika gushes:

“We just love to attend any event happening in the city around so that we get to spend time together and at the same time gives us a new learning experience. We luckily both share a common definition for the word “Travel”, for us it means to step out and meet new people around. By meeting new people we do not mean to say hanging out with them over a glass of wine rather we love storytellers and we also call ourselves as storytellers of stories that define varied experiences of life.”

When they exchanged rings

Real Wedding

The engagement ceremony took place at Madhuban Hotel in Greater Kailash-1, New Delhi. The bride chose to wear Astha and Sidharth label that grabbed many compliments. The outfit was a true amalgamation of South Indian and Western attire. It was an ethnic heavy flared yellow silk gown with an angrakaha style with a gotta patti work that added a graceful touch to it. Also, red Banarasi silk dupatta was added to take the outfit more towards ethnicity.

She completed her entire look with the Temple jewellery that she purchased from Tamil Nadu Emporium, Connaught Place, New Delhi. The jewellery gave her a complete look of a South Indian bride, and the gown pattern gave it a western look. The bride said:

“A fusion of two cultures in the outfit was very comfortable to carry and gave me all the confidence to stay happy on the important day of my life.”

The wedding preparations

The bride gushed:

“Excitement was always surrounding me during the preparations as it was the time of the year when I spent most of the time with my mom. Being ethnic lovers we explored many handicrafts and handloom exhibitions, cottage industries, different state emporiums and dastkar exhibitions. Endless talks and discussions with mom were like an icing on the cake.”
