He stole a million hearts with his first Bollywood release, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. But, to every young girl’s disappointment, his heart already belonged to someone else. Well, we are talking about none another than the tinsel town’s stylish young couple, Imran Khan and Avantika Malik. What started as puppy love actually turned into an everlasting bond, as the two lovebirds who had been dating for almost a decade, finally tied the knot on January 10, 2011. And, this young couple has now become the doting parents too.
With their strong love for each other, they are truly an inspiration for a lot of young couples in the country. And, we thought of bringing their complete journey from being lovebirds to becoming soulmates, to all of you. So, let us begin.

Imran met Avantika when he was just 19 years old. The two started dating, and were in the so-called ‘puppy love’ phase. They even lived together for a year in Los Angeles, where Imran was pursuing a course in acting.
For a lot of men, especially in Bollywood, their career is the priority when they are young. But, Imran did not worry about how his career would shape up if he got married so early. Taking the example of few of his seniors such as Anil Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan, he too decided to take the plunge and asked Avantika to marry him. But, how he asked her was the real icing on the cake!

Absolutely romantic at heart, Imran planned a Bollywood-style proposal for his lady love by sneaking into her house and decorating her entire room with candles. He then went down on his knees and asked her to be his forever. Now, who could turn down such a romantic proposal coming from such a handsome guy, right?

Following such a splendid proposal, the next step obviously was to get united forever by the bond of holy matrimony. And, the two decided to do that on January 10, 2011. While they had an intimate registered marriage at Avantika’s home in Pali Hills, Mumbai, the pre-wedding celebrations as well as their wedding reception witnessed all the powerful personalities from the world of Bollywood and business.
The pre-wedding celebrations began on January 5, 2011, with a cocktail dinner hosted by Imran’s uncle, Aamir Khan, at a hotel in Bandra, Mumbai. Next was a pre-wedding bash that took place on January 7, 2011. The next celebration, which was their mehendi ceremony, took place at Avantika’s farmhouse in Karjat, Mumbai. And, after their registered marriage on January 10, 2011, they hosted a reception party at the Taj Land’s End Hotel, in Mumbai.

Three years after their wedding, this beautiful couple welcomed a new member into their family, as Avantika gave birth to a baby girl on June 9, 2014. And, the young parents named their little angel, Imara Malik Khan.
Talking about the meaning of her name, Imran said in one of his interviews:
“It is Swahili and it means strong and resolute. It's a dumdaar name.”

In one of her interviews, Avantika shared what she feels for her darling husband, Imran. The lady said:
“He's fantastic. He's the best person to live with because he is able to be with you and be supportive, and also gives you tremendous space. He really looks after me, I have to give him that. I am an ordinary girl in love with a boy who happens to be a movie star. I just feel like I fell in love with this boy 10 years ago, he was a 19-20 then, and though he's grown tremendously in many ways, his core being is still the same. I give Imran a lot of credit because he hasn't changed in any way. Except that he's more confident as he knows what he's achieved.”
Imran too feels that Avantika has changed him in ways more than one. She is his first priority, and also the one who brings stability and balance to his life. A caring husband, and now a doting father, Imran gives credit for whatever he is to his darling wife.
