One such Bollywood diva, who belongs to the former category is none other than Veere Di Wedding fame, Swara Bhasker. Swara won accolades for her commendable performances in movies like Tanu Weds Manu, Raanjhanaa and Anaarkali of Aarah. Swara doesn’t shy away from speaking her heart and doesn’t mince her words. And speaking of her personal life, Swara opened up about it too and revealed that she is dating National Award winner and screenwriter, Himanshu Sharma. After meeting each other during the making of Raanjhanaa, Swara and Himanshu came close while shooting for Tanu Weds Manu Returns. And you know what? The couple is in a steady relationship for over four years!
After the success of her latest film, Veere Di Wedding, Swara went on a Europe vacation with her boyfriend, Himanshu. Being an ardent social media user, Swara has been uploading loads of drool-worthy pictures of the streets, monuments, the beautiful sunsets and of course some love-dovey selfies with her man too. Though Swara and Himanshu are now back from their holiday, let us give you some glimpses from their Euro trip. Take a look:
Swara too, shared a selfie of them on her Instagram handle, and captioned it, "When your girlfriend forces a vacation on you and then makes you pose for selfies also! #TortureByHoliday with #HimanshuSharma". As per a Mid-Day report, a source was quoted as saying earlier, "Swara has been in Europe since the past few days. She organised a romantic trip for Himanshu. The couple will bring in his birthday in sunny Venice and will later travel to Florence. They will conclude the trip with a final stop in Paris." The source further added, "They plan to shop for leather and art in Florence, besides visiting museums and heritage structures built during the Renaissance period, since they harbour an interest in history. A Pakistani restaurant in Florence, Madina Tandoori, is where the duo will head to for dinner. Himanshu enjoys Mughlai food. Swara has organised a special meal for him at the restaurant."
Talking about Himanshu’s birthday, Swara being the ‘typical girlfriend’ played the memory game with her beau on their lunch date. And obviously, he wasn’t prepared for it. For the uninitiated ones, Swara confessed dating Himanshu to IANS and said, “Yes, we are dating and are happy and committed. Now you know why Himanshu is my favourite dialogue writer." Confirming the news of dating Swara, Himanshu said in an interview, “Yes, we are dating each other. We're in a happy space and currently, both of us are concentrating solely on our careers. We haven't thought about marriage as yet, but when the time comes, we will surely take the leap.”
In 2016, there were rumours that Swara and Himanshu were planning to tie the knot. To which, Swara had then stated, "The news was totally counterfactual. There are no marriage plans right now. We are both busy with our respective careers. To top that, I, for one, am too broke to get married." When further probed as to when are the wedding bells ringing, Swara informed, “Ab woh Himanshu ko poocho. In a throwback interview, Swara got candid about her relationship with Himanshu and shared, “I fight a lot with Himanshu (Sharma, boyfriend, writer), like for one during Raanjhanaa where I kept telling him that he didn't give any space to Zoya's world and ended up making stalking look cute. But at least she does not surrender, which is better than most of our Bollywood films.”
Sharing her views about the institution of marriage and live-in relationships, Swara expressed, "I have been in a live-in relationship, but I haven’t been married. The thing with a live-in is that you are basically married, except for the paperwork. The routine is exactly like that of a married couple. I mean what is marriage than two people sharing a home or life? When I was living-in, both our families knew and we were close to each other’s family. It was not any different from a marriage. Also, urban living in modern India is slowly changing the institutions, the values. But I believe in marriage because I believe in family. My strongest support and the reason why I am still rational and not flipping insane is because of my family. I want to be married and have a family."
