Happiness is ringing in the family of Sushmita Sen as they welcomed their bahu just recently. The ones who have been living under the rocks, let us tell you, Sushmita’s brother, Rajeev Sen and his longtime girlfriend, Charu Asopa took the wedding vows after legally signing the papers in court marriage on June 9, 2019. A week later, on June 16, 2019, in Goa, the lovebirds finally became each other’s for life and beyond in Bengali as well as Rajasthani weddings.
Just like commoners, even celebrities’ life is filled with happiness and joy when a wedding takes place in their family no matter how many times they have acted on-screen. Same was the case with Susmita when her bhai, Rajeev’s wedding took place last weekend. Sush along with her angels, Renee and Alisah enjoyed every bit of the wedding and pre-wedding rituals. Though Sushmita has been silent on her social media throughout the wedding, she has now shared some clicks and videos from the functions. Sushmita took to her official Instagram handle and shared a lovely video wherein she can be seen showered with a surprise by her sister-in-law, Charu’s mom, Neelam Asopa. Well, the actress got "shaadi ka joda" as she herself remarked in the video. Posting the following video, she wrote, “I love you Maa @neelam_asopa here’s Charu’s Mom, dad, sister & brother what a loving & gracious family you married into bhai @rajeevsen9 truly special people @asopacharu I love you guys!!!” Checkout the video here:
Not just this, Sushmita shared a series of posts a few hours back. In another post of hers, she congratulated the newlywed couple, her bhaiya, Rajeev and bhabhi, Charu. When Rajeev and Charu had tied the knot in court marriage, a source close to the couple who was present at the do had informed, "Since, white is the colour of purity and red signifies love, Rajeev sported a white kurta-pyjama, while Charu wore a red sari for the wedding. After the ceremony wrapped up, Rajeev’s mother gifted Charu a set of diamond earrings. After that Charu had shared with a leading portal about the marriage registration, “We wanted to register our marriage closer to our wedding functions, but it got scheduled a bit earlier. Rajeev’s mother, his uncle and my best friend were present as witnesses. The registration is a formality. We feel like we have been married to each other since the day we met. Our families will solemnise our wedding in Goa.”
Talking about the kind of wedding they were planning to have, Charu had earlier remarked, "I have always dreamt of having a white wedding. So, we plan to have a Christian-themed engagement and I will wear a white gown for it. The idea is to start with white — the colour stands for peace and purity — and then add colours to our functions and costumes, with us in red on our wedding day. We will be colour-coordinated for all our functions. While the pheras will happen according to Rajasthani and Bengali rituals, the theme for the wedding will be royal Rajasthani.
