Sushmita Sen had made India proud not only by winning the crown and title of Miss Universe. But also when she had broken stereotypes by adopting her daughters, Renee and Alisah, despite the fact that she was unmarried. Sushmita was only 24 when she had adopted her first child, Renee after a complicated legal battle.
It was in the year, 2010, that Sushmita Sen had taken another pathbreaking step when she had adopted her younger daughter, Alisah. She had proved to the world that motherhood comes naturally to a woman. Sushmita has been a hands-on mother for Renee and Alisah and has left no stone unturned to provide them with a good upbringing. On August 28, 2021, Alisah turned a year older and her mommy posted an adorable birthday wish for her.

A few hours back, Sushmita Sen took to her IG handle and chronicled her daughter, Alisah's twelve years of journey with a heartwarming note and a montage of priceless childhood pictures of Alisah. Sushmita Sen penned a heartwarming birthday note for her daughter. The video featured Alisah with her sister, Renee Sen, Rohman and Rajeev uncle and other family members. Sushmita thanked her daughter for being a part of her life and wrote, "Happpyyyyy 12th Birthday Alisah To God’s most precious gift & the love of my life…Happpyyyy Birthday my Shona Maa!!"
Sushmita Sen's video was a complete package of the moments that she has spent with her daughter, Alisah. The doting mommy further added, "Thank you for being born…you make this world a beautiful place…adding to each passing moment…more goodness, kindness & love!!! I am soooooo proud of you!!! Congratulations @reneesen47 you are 12 years old as didi…what a magical journey We love you Alisah, May God bless you with divine abundance…May you always be nurtured in love!! Sushmita Sen's boyfriend, Rohman Shawl and Alisah's Rohman uncle also took to his IG stories to share a collage with his 'Gabdu' and wrote a birthday wish for her. Atop the picture, Rohman wrote, "My Gabdu's Birthday @sushmitasen47 apko bhi happy wala birthday", followed by a red heart and winking emoticon.
Sushmita Sen often dedicates posts and stories on her IG handle to her little girls, Renee and Alisah. On May 27, 2021, Sushmita had shared a glimpse of Alisah's impressive artwork as she had made a rainbow in between the clouds. The Main Hoon Na actress had then posted a bright and shining picture with her 'universe', Renee and Alisah, wrapped in her arms. Atop the mirror selfie, Sushmita had written, "My universe" along with a star emoticon.
Sushmita Sen has always accepted the fact that though she is not the biological mother of her daughters, Renee Sen and Alisah Sen, she had given them birth from her heart. In fact, she had even given an option to her elder daughter, Renee when she was 16 that after she turns 18, she could go to court to see the envelope which has the names of her biological parents and had given her the full freedom to seek them out if she chooses to. However, Renee didn't want to know about her biological parents.
