India's first-ever Miss Universe, actress, entrepreneur and also, mother of two beautiful daughters, Sushmita Sen had first embraced motherhood with Renee 21 years ago, after a complicated legal battle. On September 4, 2020, Renee turned 21 and her doting mother, Sushmita penned a heartfelt birthday wish for her ‘first love’. Sharing some beautiful throwback memories of the birthday girl, Sushmita wrote, “Happyyyy Birthday my first love!!! On September 4, 2019, when Renee had turned 20, Sushmita Sen had written a heartfelt note for ‘the first one ever to call her Maa’ and mentioned that her not-so-little-anymore princess was born from her heart after a long and tough labour. Sushmita had captioned an array of pictures and video of Renne as “The first one to ever call me Maa... a long & tough labour before she was born from my heart!!! Did you know Sushmita Sen had told her daughter, Renee when she was 16 that after she turns 18, she can go to court to see the envelope which explains the names of her biological parents and go seek them out if she chooses to? In an interview with Rajeev Masand, Sushmita had elaborated on the details and was quoted as saying, “I told her that we don't know if they have a biological parents name in there right but there is information in that envelope which is only rightfully yours after you turn 18, right, so I didn't want to give her the wrong information because I don't want her to go there and get her heart broken because they don't have that information about a lot of kids. But I told her 'I'll take you whenever you're ready we must go' and we get it so she said ‘but why do you want me to go find out’, so I said, ‘I am saying you have a right, now that you are an adult to go if you want to go, I'll take you.' So, she gave it a bit like a moment's pause and said, 'Honestly, no I don't want to find out.' I told her, ‘If you do let me know.’”
Sushmita Sen had also revealed Renee’s reaction when she was told about the envelope containing the information of her biological parents.
