Sushant Singh Rajput was a simple boy from Patna, who had left his engineering in the last semester and had come to Mumbai to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. And he not only had succeeded in achieving his dream but had also nailed each and every role given to him. Even without a godfather, who would cast him, he had carved a name for himself and had done complete justice to his dream. Sushant’s sudden death on June 14, 2020, had shocked the entire nation. His friends, family, and fans deny the claims of his suicide as he was always happy to take such a drastic step.
On Sushant Singh Rajput's two-month death anniversary, his sister, Shweta Singh Kirti had invocated his fans worldwide to come together and join them for a 24--hour prayer observation for him. On August 15, 2020, Shweta took to her IG handle and shared a video of the global prayer service being held at their family home in Patna, Bihar. In the video, Sushant’s father, KK Singh was seen seated next to his portrait, and his sister and other chanted the 'Maha Mrityunjaya' mantra. Along with the video, Shweta wrote, "Om Try-Ambakam Yajaamahe, Sugandhim Pusstti-Vardhanam, Urvaarukam-Iva Bandhanaan, Mrtyor-Mukssiiya Maamrtaat. Please post a pic of yours with folded hands and join the campaign.”
Sushant Singh Rajput’s ex-girlfriend, Ankita Lokhande also posted a video from a prayer service. Along with the video, she wrote, “Miracle-Man. A Startling soul. An awe-inspiring personality. You will be missed Sushant.” Sushant’s co-star, Kriti Sanon too shared a picture of herself with folded hands and wrote, “Because its always a good time to pray.. Sending out Prayers and Positivity. May the truth shine soon.. Today, this independence day, lets also free ourselves from negativity and hate while we stand for our beliefs and for what is right.”
On August 14, 2020, Ankita Lokhande’s beau, Vicky Jain had urged everyone to join the Global 24-hour prayer observation. Sharing a poster of the details of the prayer meet with a picture of Sushant, Vicky had written, “Request everyone to join a Global 24-hour spiritual and prayer observation for our beloved Sushant Singh Rajput tomorrow on 15th August @ 10 A.M.” On Vicky’s post, his girlfriend and Sushant's ex, Ankita Lokhande had commented with an array of heart emoticons. Some days back, Sushant Singh Rajput’s father had filed an FIR accusing his then-girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty of abetment to suicide. Amidst all this, on August 1, 2020, Sushant’s sister, Shweta Singh Kirti had taken to her IG handle and had made an appeal to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to look into SSR’s case while expecting justice to prevail. The doting sister had written, “I am sister of Sushant Singh Rajput and I request an urgent scan of the whole case. We believe in India’s judicial system & expect justice at any cost. @narendramodi @PMOIndia.”
Ankita Lokhande was interrogated by the Bihar Police and during the interrogation, Ankita had revealed that Sushant was not very happy in his relationship with Rhea. She had stated, “He is quite unhappy in the relationship and wanted to end it as Rhea harassed him.” After the FIR was filed against Rhea, Ankita had shared a cryptic post on her IG handle. She had posted a picture, which could be read as "Truth Wins". Sushant's sister, Shweta Singh Kriti had also commented on it and had written, "God is always with the truth".
