Sushant Singh Rajput's family had flown to Mumbai from Patna for his last rites on June 15, 2020. But his sister, Shweta Singh Kirti, who lives in the US, will be reaching Mumbai on June 16, 2020, to be with her family in this traumatising phase. On the day of her brother, Sushant's demise, Shweta had asked for help via her Facebook profile, "I need to fly to India ASAP.... not able to get any flight tickets... if anyone can help... please let me know." Shweta was also worried about the quarantine period she'll have to stay in post reaching Mumbai, "By everyone’s help.... tickets to India are confirmed. I am flying on 16th, will reach Mumbai via Delhi. Worried about 7 Day quarantine period... is there a way it can be waived off? I need to get to my family soon."
A few hours ago, Shweta Singh Kirti revealed how Sushant Singh Rajput's nephew, Nirvanh had reacted on his mamu's demise, and wrote in her FB status, "When I told Nirvanh the news that Mamu is no more, he said “But he is alive in your heart” 3 times. When a 5 yr old can say something like that... think how strong we should all be.... During an interview, as per Pinkvilla, Sushant Singh Rajput's sister, Mitu Singh, who was papped outside the hospital, confirmed that her brother was battling depression but he didn't have any financial problem. She revealed that Sushant wasn't feeling well for the past one week but had never expected him to take such a drastic step. As a eulogy to Sushant Singh Rajput, Arjun Kapoor had posted a screenshot of their bittersweet conversation from December 2018. Arjun had captioned the post as "18 months ago... My last msg to him was when he posted about his mom a week after the release of Kedarnath. He was missing her I assume while the movie was being celebrated. I didn’t know him well enough though our paths crossed at yrf, events & screenings every now & then. I can’t say I understood what made him make this choice. I can say I felt the pain he did about losing his bearings & feeling that void of his mother. I hope ur in a better & happier space my friend. I hope u have found ur peace. We will all wonder & try & make sense of what happened today. I just hope & pray that when the circus settles down we as a society in due course realise ur choice wasn’t driven by one singular moment or thing but a culmination of so much that defines a human being not just by the profession u were in. Rest my dear brother Sushant you are now I hope at peace." For the uninitiated, Sushant had lost his mother in 2002, and Arjun's mother had left for the heavenly abode in 2012. And both couldn't witness the success their sons had achieved in Bollywood.
Sushant Singh Rajput's demise is been investigated by Mumbai police and in a statement, Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Trimukhe (Zone XI) said, “We have so far recorded the statement of his sister, two managers, a cook, actor Mahesh Shetty and a keymaker who was called to the spot to open his bedroom‘s door.”DCP Pranay Ashok, spokesperson for Mumbai Police had confirmed the suicide, "Sushant Singh Rajput has committed suicide, Mumbai Police is investigating."
Sushant Singh Rajput's post-mortem was conducted at Dr RN Cooper Municipal General Hospital in Mumbai. Abhishek Trimukhe, Mumbai Deputy Commissioner of Police, in a statement, had said on June 15, 2020, "Provisional post-mortem report has been submitted by doctors at Bandra Police Station. A team of three doctors conducted the autopsy of Sushant Singh Rajput. The provisional cause of death is asphyxia due to hanging."
