Irrespective of how old we are, the death of a parent is shattering to deal with. And it is even more heart-wrenching for a parent to experience the demise of their child and it is one of the most painful phases that a person can go through. It was on June 14, 2020, when Sushant Singh Rajput had taken his own life by suicide at his Mumbai residence, leaving everyone in disbelief and shattered. As per the reports, Sushant was under medication for depression in the last six months but his father knew nothing about it. According to the Indianexpress.com, Sushant's father had informed the police that though he was aware that his son was feeling 'low', he had no idea about the actor being depressed.
In an interview with Punjab Kesari’s entertainment portal, Tadka Bollywood, Sushant Singh Rajput's father remembered his late son, who was a dear child and was born after a lot of prayers. Revealing that when Sushant was younger, he used to share his feelings but had become reclusive in the recent years, his father said, “Pehle toh sab bolta tha par last me kya hua, usne bataya nahi."
Devastated with the news of Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide, his ex-fiancée, Ankita Lokhande had visited his family at his Mumbai residence a day after the funeral of the late actor. Revealing that Ankita had visited them in Mumbai and Patna, Sushant's father said, “Ha wo aayi bhi thi, Bombay bhi aayi thi aur Patna bhi aayi thi.” Speaking about Sushant and Ankita's relationship, his father continued, “Yeh toh sanjog hai, jo hona hota hai hota hai.”
Recalling that he had discussed his son, Sushant Singh Rajput's marriage over a call with him, K.K. Singh said, “Iss par baat hui thi, usne bola tha ki Corona me toh nahi, fir uske baad ek film aa rahi hai, wo karlenge, uske baad February-March mein dekhte hai karenge. Yehi last baat hui thi uske sath meri.” Sushant's father didn't take Rhea Chakraborty's name and Ankita Lokhande was the only girl in the actor's life he knew about. Mentioning Sushant's Raabta co-star, Kriti Sanon's conversation at the funeral, the actor's father added, "Aaye toh bohot log the lekin humse sirf Kriti Sanon mili thi, ha wo baith ke baat kiya. Hum toh baat nahi kiya, wo jo bol rahi thi hum sunte gaye. Aaye sablog aaye, par Corona ke chalte sab dur hi the. Kyuki muh pe mask tha toh hum kisiko pehechane nahi. Kriti Sanon bagal mein baithi thi na aur kisine bataya toh malum hua ki...par wo thi ya nahi thi wo malum nahi ha par ek smart ladki thi aur bol rahi thi ki pyaara ladka tha, yehi sab baat hai." Sushant Singh Rajput's father revealed that the actor used to gaze at the plot he had bought on the moon from his telescope worth 55 lakhs. Sushant dreams to build colleges, hospital, etc in Bihar remained unfulfilled. Speaking if Sushant succumbed to industry pressure, his father said, "Ho sakta hai.... Filmy duniya mein ho sakta hai. Kuch bhi ho sakta hai. Hota hi hai, agar kisi ko dikhta hai bohot aage badhta hai, to kuch kar do. Hota hi hoga."
Since Sushant Singh Rajput's demise, his friends and family have been posting on social media and remembering the happy moments they had spent with the late actor. SSR's close friend, Vikas Gupta had posted a throwback picture with Sushant, Ankita Lonkhande, Pooja Gor and Raj Singh Arora, and had penned an emotional note remembering his 'carefree and tension-free' friend. Vikas had written, "This was the time when I saw him the carefree fun happy lad sushu was. He dint worry about anything. He could leave the number 1 show on Indian television and we could for weeks do nothing and make plans in chai coffee and discuss learning film making plans."
