Delhi HC Dismissed Sushant Singh Rajput's Father, KK Singh's Petition To Put A Stay On Film, 'Nyay'

Late Bollywood actor, Sushant Singh Rajput's first death anniversary is on June 14, 2021, and ahead of it, the family of the Raabta star is in immense pain and disappointment. The reason for the same is the fact that Delhi HC has rejected Sushant's father, KK Singh's petition to put a stay on the films, Nyay: The Justice, Suicide or Murder: A star was lost, and Shashank.

After Delhi High Court's decision, Sushant Singh Rajput's sisters, Priyanka Singh and Meetu Singh shared their disappointment on their respective Twitter handles. While on one side, Meetu wrote, "Extremely disheartened by the judgement. #JusticeForSushantSinghRajput #SSRians #SushanthSinghRajput.” On the other side, Priyanka penned, "Most devastated and baffled beyond words… #JusticeForSSR" in her tweet.

Late Bollywood actor, Sushant Singh Rajput's father, KK Singh's petition to put a stay on the release of the upcoming film, Nyay: The Justice is rejected by the Delhi High Court on June 10, 2021. The doting father had filed a plea in the court to stop people from using his late son's name, image, or likeliness in their movies or projects. However, the High Court dismissed the petition, and there are reports that Nyay: The Justice, which is purportedly based on the life and death of Sushant Singh Rajput, will release at its scheduled date.

Talking about the details of KK Singh's petition in Delhi High Court, the father had requested the judiciary to put a stay on the upcoming movies, Nyay: The Justice, Suicide or Murder: A star was lost, and Shashank, based on his son's life and death. The doting father had explained his concern by saying that the filmmakers are utilising his son's death for their commercial gains.

Nyay: The Justice

Hence, the freedom of speech and expression should not be applied to the filmmakers of these films. KK Singh had also added that he's concerned about the portrayal of his son in these films. According to him, there are also chances that these films will portray his family negatively and can harm their reputation.

The doting father had also requested Delhi High Court to keep the rights of a deceased person in their perspective as the person isn't alive to defend himself. However, the Delhi HC has told filmmakers of all the three films to submit a detailed report about the royalty, profits, and licensing of their respective movies in a given time.
