Kahiin to Hoga fame actress, Surveen Chawla got married to her long-time businessman-boyfriend, Akshay Thakkar in 2015 in Italy in a very secretive marriage. So much so, that everyone came to know that she is a married woman only two years after that in 2017. In 2013, Surveen and Akshay met through a common friend and felt an instant connection. In an interview with Bombay Times, the elated mommy-to-be, Surveen was quoted as saying, “It’s a beautiful feeling and more so, as it has come completely unexpected for Akshay and me. Suddenly, life has become beautiful. I am looking forward to every step now. Of course, it’s unfamiliar territory, but the only one that comes with a guarantee of being wonderful. Akshay and I feel really blessed!"
On being asked how the feeling is of fostering a life in herself, she remarked, "Honestly, initially, the fear of change engulfed me, but later, the beauty of it all started sinking in. Now, I feel like I am embarking on a new journey and adventure of sorts. I don’t know how many women will tell you the truth, but the reality is that motherhood is a slow, gradual process. Motherly instincts are not born out of nowhere. Motherhood, to me, is a feeling that grows on you, with the growing life inside you. I think just the fact that women are designed to grow a whole being inside them is a far more superior feeling".
Revealing that she has found her best friend in her husband, Surveen stated, “I could kiss my co-actor or even go nude on screen, I can do whatever the script demands in a film and my husband will not say anything about it. That’s the kind of understanding I have with him. When I have this kind of comfort level with him, why would I wait to get married?
