Just like every year, following the tradition, the Kapoor ladies host the Karva Chauth gathering at Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor’s residence. The Kapoor’s close-knit circle of friends including Raveena Tandon, Neelam Kothari, Kaykasshan Patel, Varun Dhawan's mother Lali Dhawan, film producer Renu Ravi Chopra and others, celebrate this festival together at the Kapoor house. This festival is hosted by the devrani-jethani jodi of Sunita Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor. And this year too, these beautiful ladies celebrated the Karva Chauth festival and shared lovely pictures from the evening. But what made us all emotional was Maheep and Sunita’s caption to the Karva Chauth pictures. While Maheep wrote, “Karvachauth... miss you Sri”, Sunita captioned one pic as, “Karva Chauth... While in the comments section, some of Sunita Kapoor's acquaintances pointed out how Sridevi would eagerly look forward to the Karva Chauth celebrations and had written, "Sridevi was so fond of this day... always used to look forward to her pics..", "Someone is missing, Sridevi ji miss you always!" perfecting summing up everyone’s feelings. In an interview with Zoom, Bollywood's ace mehendi artist, Veena Nagda shared Sridevi’s favourite mehendi design that she used to apply every Karva Chauth. He stated, "Sridevi ji used to love the round mehendi design. She kept it simple and round always. And, she used to apply mehendi on every Karva Chauth without fail."
On Sridevi’s demise, Veena shared a picture of Sridevi flaunting her mehendi, and wrote, “I am very heartbroken to hear about Sriji I have always applied mehendi to her on every karwa chauth She was such a beautiful person with pure soul. Life is very unpredictable. May her soul rest in peace”.
In a throwback interview, Sridevi talked about the Karva Chauth celebrations and had said, “I have been celebrating Karva Chauth for almost 20 years. Earlier, we would go to my mother-in-law’s place, but after my father-in-law passed away, we have been going to Anil Kapoor’s house.” Talking about her sarees, she said, “I dress up for the occasion by wearing bright colours and heavy jewellery. I almost dress like a bride. It feels good to pray for your husband.”
In an interview post-Sridevi’s demise, her devar and devraani, Anil Kapoor spoke about how much he and his wife, Sunita Kapoor misses Sridevi. He shared, “Sunita and Sridevi had a great bond. She really really misses her a lot. They would often speak to each other, Sunita looked up to Sridevi, a lot, a lot. As a matter of fact, the day Sri passed away, Sunita spoke to her twice. Of course, she misses her a lot. And I have worked with her, she was not only a great co-star. We have done some wonderful films together which will remain memorable.
