“Even though I gave her a ring, it's me who found the diamond!" – This is what Sumeet shared when he got candid about his love story in an interview with 'Humans Of Bombay'. And finally, that day has arrived when Ekta Kaul and Sumeet Vyas are all set to make each other their ‘forever’. The pre-wedding functions kick-started with a simple puja ceremony on September 13, 2018.
In the evening, Ekta had her intimate mehendi ceremony, in which the bride-to-be looked no less than a princess in a pink and grey lehenga, which she teamed with matching floral gota jewellery. Ekta and Sumeet’s close friend and Balika Vadhu fame, Malini Kapoor gave us some glimpses from the Ekta’s mehendi ceremony. After the haldi ceremony on September 14, 2018 morning, Ekta and Sumeet hosted the sangeet function in the evening. Their official photographers, Knotting Bells shared the first look of the soon-to-be-married couple, Ekta and Sumeet and wrote, “Showcasing first look of @sumeetvyas & @ektakaul11 Sangeet... Another picture of the couple went viral on the internet, where they can be seen tightly hugging each other. Too ethereal, we say! Ekta looked mesmerising in a floral embroidered lehenga with shimmer jaal work on the choli, Sumeet looked dapper in a grey pathani salwar and kurta. Bollywood taught us that the day you hear a soft violin music playing in the background and rose petals falling from the sky, is the moment you realise that you are in ‘love’. But it was a Holi party and Sumeet’s bullet that played the Cupid for them and was also the moment of realisation for him that Ekta is the ‘one’. Sharing his moment of realisation, the Veere Di Wedding actor had said, "It's not one big moment when you know you've met 'the one'. It's how they make you feel everyday; if they make you a better person. And she does. But one stand out moment was last year during holi! I rode my motorcycle to a party and had a little bit of bhang. I was in no state to ride. She saw that and took the keys –I thought she was joking! I mean it was a Bullet! But she just got on and off we went, me in the backseat and my lady driving the bullet. I was thinking then, Man! I'm going to marry her! She's the one!"
Talking about how he proposed Ekta and when did he realise that it is the time to ask Ekta to be his ‘forever’, Sumeet revealed, “But, all of a sudden she left for Jammu because she realised acting wasn’t for her! I knew then that I wanted to do everything to make this work. I asked her to move back to our relationship–to give us a chance. Thankfully, she agreed, but I didn’t want to risk it, so this year on my birthday, I popped the question!
