Falling in love is one of the best feelings in the world. And when you get to spend the rest of your life with the same person, happiness reaches another level altogether. Such is the case with our Bollywood’s damsel, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and her businessman-husband, Anand S Ahuja. Time flies in a jiffy and the cutesy couple has already completed one year of their blissful married life. Yes, that’s right! It was on May 8, 2018, that Sonam and Anand walked down the aisle and became mister and missus to each other.
Today, on May 8, 2019, the lovebirds are celebrating their first marriage anniversary. For the ones who don’t know, Sonam and Anand have been giving some serious cues to the couples who are into long-distance relationships. In an interview with the Filmfare, Anand Ahuja had shared how they make their long-distance marriage work. He had shared that even small things in marriage matter a lot and they make sure that they don’t go over two weeks without seeing each other. A lot of wishes from their family members have been pouring in for the couple. Sonam’s mother, Sunita wrote, “Happy happy anniversary. Love is not about how many days, months, or years you have been together. Love is about how much you love each other every single day.” Anil Kapoor too wished his kids on social media and penned, “It’s been such a fantastic year for you both, and if it's any indication of the life to come, you have so much love, happiness, success (and shoes) to look forward to! I love you both more than hot sauce. #everydayphenomenal #hujas @sonamkapoor @anandahuja.” Rhea’s rumoured boyfriend, Karan Boolani also wished online as he simply wrote, “Happy Anniversary”, followed by a lots of hug and heart emojis. Also, chachu Sanjay Kapoor shared an unseen picture from the couple’s wedding and captioned it as, “Happy anniversary family!!!!! I love you both more than hot sauce. #everydayphenomenal #hujas @sonamkapoor @anandahuja.” Chachi Maheep Kapoor also shared an unseen wedding picture of the anniversary couple. Along with the same, she wrote, “Happy anniversary my cuties #CheersToYouTwo #Love&HappinessAlways xox.”
Lately, during an interaction with MensXP, Anand had revealed, "It's funny. Sonam is always messing on my plans. Last year, she had canned right after the wedding. We didn't do a honeymoon. We did a really short one in Japan.” He had further gone to add, "This year, we were again planning to go to Japan but then her 'Zoya Factor' schedule is there and it has changed a bit. We are not going in June, but we will go after her birthday. We are so fortunate that with our schedules, we travel so much and get to spend time. We will be in London for the anniversary. Earlier, in an interview with Vogue, Sonam had revealed their first date details. The actress said, “I was apparently wearing the worst sneakers he had ever seen. I keep telling him that he fell in love with me despite my bad sneaker game. That day, walking and talking in London, I knew he was the love of my life. He apparently knew the first time we spoke on the phone. It was just so easy.”
In an interview with Firstpost, Sonam talked about adding her husband’s surname to her name, and Anand adding her name into his. She had stated, "Anand and I had a very long conversation you know, and we obviously want to have kids eventually, and he had this one friend who had a very long name, his mother’s name, father’s name, blah blah blah. In an interview earlier, Sonam had shared what attracted her towards Anand, “He’s non-judgemental—with everybody. Very open-minded and progressive. I’m a little conservative and close-minded about a few things, and he’s taught me to see the other side, to look at things with a lot more compassion and care, to be a little more pragmatic and practical, as I can be very emotional and quick to judge sometimes, which is not nice.”
