Shweta Tiwari had won the hearts of millions with her on-screen character, Prerna Sharma Basu on Ekta Kapoor’s Kasautii Zindagii Kay. Shweta had also participated in reality shows like Nach Baliye 2, Jjhoom India, Jalwa Four 2 Ka 1, Bigg Boss 4 and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6. Although Shweta’s professional life had been spectacular, her personal life was never a bed of roses.

When Shweta was riding high in her professional life, she was going through an abusive marriage with Raja Chaudhary. After separating from Raja, Shweta gave love another chance when she married actor, Abhinav Kohli but that too resulted in a complete failure. Shweta is now raising her two children, Palak Tiwari (from her first marriage) and Reyansh Kohli (from her second marriage) as a single parent.
Shweta Tiwari is currently in Cape Town where she is shooting for her upcoming reality show, Khatron Ke Khiladi 11. Shweta, who often posts glimpses from the sets of KKK11 shared a video of her ‘happy dance’ with her co-contestant, Vishal Aditya Singh on June 17, 2021. She captioned the video as “Yes! Yes! This is Our Happy Dance. Sawaal ye Hai Ki “why are we happy?” Any Guesses.”
While many users commented that they are dancing for being selected for the finale, there were few, who trolled her mercilessly. One of the users wrote, “Its third marriage hone wali h???” while another commented, “Haan aur ek murga pakdaa gaya shaayad.”
When Shweta had left for Cape Town, South Africa to begin the shoot for Khatron Ke Khiladi 11, her estranged husband, Abhinav had accused her of abandoning their son, Reyansh. Abhinav had also blamed Shweta for travelling amid the pandemic and had alleged that she had kept Reyansh in a hotel room with a servant.
Shweta Tiwari is often trolled for her two abusive marriages and is blamed for the failure of the second one too. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Shweta had spoken about how her bad choices in men in her life had made her worried for her kids, Palak Tiwari and Reyansh Kohli as such situations have left a bad impact on them.

Revealing that it was her fault and not her children's, Shweta said, "Both my kids have a habit of hiding their pain. They somehow don’t show me that they are sad. I don’t understand how are they both so happy when so much is happening around them."
She had also revealed that her marital status and failure in relationships had built an image of her daughter, Palak Tiwari in the public eye. Shweta had stated that people troll her on Instagram and tell her that since she got married twice, her daughter will marry five times.

Post her three years of sabbatical, Shweta Tiwari made a comeback in 2019 with her first web series, Hum Tum And Them.
