When we were young and silly, we always wanted to grow old and be like our parents. After all, they have been our first heroes and we have always looked up to them for inspiration. It was their little nok-jhok that had made us believe in love from a young age. We were introduced to the concept of 'sharing is caring' from our parents. Our mothers used to be the one, who waited all night for our daddies to come home and eat dinner after a late-night meeting while our daddies used to happily help her in setting up the dinner table. Well, the little things they used to do in love, made us believe in the concept of 'happily ever after' and crave for a relationship like theirs. Shraddha Kapoor is the daughter of Bollywood's renowned actor and villain, Shakti Kapoor and actress, Shivangi Kolhapure. For those who don't know, Shakti Kapoor had a runaway marriage with Shivangi Kohlapure (sister of famous actress, Padmini Kolhapure) which took place in the year 1982. It was love at first sight for Shivangi when she had first seen Shakti Kapoor, who was struggling at that time. However, she came from a conservative family which did not allow girls to fall in love. And the duo then decided to elope and get married on December 13, 1982.
Today, on (December 13, 2019), Shakti Kapoor and Shivangi Kohlapure completed 38 years of marital bliss. Shraddha Kapoor took to her Instagram handle and shared a rare picture of the adorable couple. Along with it, she wrote, "Happy anniversary mommy and baapu! Love you both more than words can ever express. Thank you for loving me unconditionally and making me the person that I am today."
In an interview with The Times of India, Shraddha had talked about her parents and their love story in detail. She had shared, "My father Shakti Kapoor is a Punjabi and my mother Shivangi (nee Kolhapure) is a Maharashtrian. My father has acted in over 700 films. My mother acted in one film, Kismat with Mithun Chakraborty, in which my father also had a role. My father fell in love with her and would drive her around in his sports car and they subsequently got married. My mom is the most beautiful woman and I think she has taken some serum to look young all her life." Shraddha had also shared that her mother once told her that she is the lucky mascot for Shakti's career in Bollywood. She had said, "My dad was already doing well when I was born, but my mom tells me I was the lucky mascot in his life and that after I was born, he did even better. I was lucky to have affluent parents. I am spoilt in the sense that my father has given me an expensive car even though I would have liked to have bought my own car. My dad wants to constantly pamper me and I have a constant friction with my parents on that, as I like to make it on my own. My dad is protective at a personal level, but professionally he gives me all the space. Now with my third film, they let me be a bit on my own. He is jovial and is good to hang out with and exuberates positive energy. He doesn’t listen to me, even though I keep telling him things like his mom."
Shraddha had also shared once in an interview with The Asian Age that she would happily bring her husband home as she cannot imagine leaving her parents. She had shared, "For me, home is where the heart is. I love my parents to such an extent that if they are okay with me getting my partner [after marriage] home, I will. I have been living in my parents’ home all my life, so it will be difficult for me. It doesn’t help matters that I am attached to my maasi, and brother as well.
