Spending a major chunk of the entire day with your colleagues at work gives you another family. Sometimes we don’t even realise but start having an infatuation with someone. Sasural Simar Ka actors, Dipika Kakar Ibrahim and Shoaib Ibrahim too fell in each other’s love trap. They didn’t even realise that their on-screen jodi turned into a real-life one. And today, Shoika (as their fans lovingly call them) is counted amongst the most loved couples from the telly land.
Dipika and Shoaib walked down the aisle on February 22, 2018, and unlike many celebrity couples, their marriage was a completely desi style wedding. Their nikaah ceremony took place in Bhopal, which happens to be Shoaib’s hometown. Believe or not, this simple wedding had also left a mark in everyone’s minds. On June 27, 2019, Dipika took to her official Instagram handle and shared an Insta story with the love of her life. In the video, we can see the actress relaxing and enjoying the traditional tree swing (hammock) as her hubby dear, Shoaib helps with the motion while the two giggle. Recently, in an interaction with a leading tabloid, Dipika had revealed that it was Shoaib who had inspired her to lose a few kilos for her role Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum, "Shoaib, definitely! He has been on my head saying, ‘You have to lose weight for the role of Sonakshi’. You become so food deprived in Bigg Boss house that you tend to eat a lot once you come out. He has motivated and pushed me to follow a diet and workout. That’s how I have lost weight and looking fresh. I am following the keto diet and it is very strict. Dipika and Shoaib were silent about dating each other in the initial phase of their togetherness, but eventually after taking their own sweet time, they had made it official. Explaining why they didn’t reveal it initially, Dipika had quipped, "I wanted to be sure that this relationship wasn't on the rebound. Also, we were getting to know each other better. No matter how progressive we become, being a divorcee has some kind of a social stigma attached to it in our society. I had that stamp on me. But he gave me that space and despite being aware of my past, never complained about it."
Do you know Dipika had converted to Islam for her marriage with Shoaib Ibrahim? Confirming the same to The Times of India, she had once revealed, “Joh sach hai woh hai (Truth is the truth). It's true I have done it, but why and when I have done it, don't think it needs to be talked about. I think it is a very personal matter and I don't think I need to talk about it openly in front of the media. For the audience and media, we are actors have always shared everything. All our happy moments we have shared with you all, but this I think is a very personal space and I don't give anyone the permission to enter the space. Definitely, it is true, and I am not denying it. I am very happy and proud that I have done it for myself and my happiness. My family was with me in this decision and my intentions were to hurt anyone. In an interaction with SpotboyE, the Qayamat Ki Raat actress talked about her family planning and had shared, “It is so funny this Mother's Day I wished so many ladies and at least 90% of them have replied, ‘Waiting for you to join (laughs).’ I was like, ‘Excuse me, I just got married.’ But seriously for family planning, there is time at least a year to go.” Further sharing that she won’t mind putting her career on hold, Dipika had remarked, “I am a complete home person. If Shoaib tells me someday that, ‘Beta aap aaram karo main hoon.’ I will say, ‘Ya, Ya please mujhe kaam nahi karna.’ I am more than happy being home.”
