The star couple, Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Raj Kundra have become pros in making hilarious TikTok videos to entertain themselves as well as their fans and all their attempts leave us laughing out loud. It was 11 years ago, during an evening in Paris, when Shilpa Shetty Kundra’s then-beau and now-husband, Raj Kundra had proposed her with the dreamiest proposal. A year later, on November 22, 2009, Raj and Shilpa had become each other’s forever and had embarked on their journey of ‘happily ever after’. Shilpa and Raj have blissfully shaped their ‘happy married life’ and to complete their family, they were blessed with a baby boy, Viaan Raj Kundra in 2012 and a baby girl, Samisha Shetty Kundra via surrogacy in 2020.
Not only Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Raj Kundra, sometimes his mother, her sister, Shamita Shetty and their son, Viaan Kundra also feature in their lockdown special videos. In their couple special video, we can see Raj trying to kiss his wife, Shilpa as she arranges her wardrobe and then scolds him to not disturb her while she’s working. Shilpa, then in her dual role as their house help, switches and interrupts the conversation, asking Shilpa (the wife) to make him understand properly not to kiss as he hasn’t been listening to her pleas. Then an angry wife, Shilpa goes on to beat her husband up for kissing their house help. A few days back, Shilpa Shetty Kundra had posted another TikTok video with her hubby, Raj Kundra and they had depicted the bitter reality of married life. In the first part of the video captioned as ‘Shaadi Se Pehle’, the couple was seen laughing coyly. But in the second half of the video, captioned as ‘Shaadi Ke Baad’, she was seen snorting with laughter and he had looked on in shock at the transformation. In 2019, Shilpa Shetty Kundra had featured on Romedy Now's The Love Laugh Live Show, and had recalled her first reaction when her then-beau, Raj Kundra had proposed her with ‘just 5-carat’ ring. Revealing how Raj had planned the proposal, Shilpa had shared, "He'd booked out the whole banqueting hall at The Grand. A bit OTT... he had like these violinists playing... He conned me into it, He said we are having lunch at a friend's place so dress up well. Not casually, just dress up well and my sister told me to wear red, so it was already planned. He told me from Mumbai we are going to this really cool place. I had no clue, but he had already asked my parents. So, the setting was all there and the cloche opened, and he did propose in the last course, dessert and it was this diamond ring."
If you had gone all awww over the romantic proposal by Raj Kundra, then Shilpa Shetty’s reaction will surely make you go, ROFL. Shilpa had taken a while to say ‘yes’ because the ring, which was a 5-carat diamond, wasn't what she had imagined it to be. Shilpa laughingly narrated the incident, "It was a 5-carat diamond ring and I might sound really materialistic here, but I was like it's just 5 carats. So, I took a while to say yes because I was like 'This is not what I imagined'. No no, I was just joking... So, he was like, because I took 2 seconds more, he was like, 'The wedding ring will be bigger', that's Raj for you. So, I said yes there."
Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Raj Kundra and Viaan Kundra’s family of three had gotten completed when the couple had welcomed a baby girl via surrogacy in February 2020. Gone are the days when adoption, IVF, single parenting and surrogacy were the tabooed subjects in our country. With the influential celebrities opening up, time and again, on opting for alternative methods to embrace parenthood and experience the joy of having a little baby in their life, Shilpa Shetty Kundra too, had revealed why she had chosen surrogacy. Shilpa had said, "After Viaan, I did want to have another child for the longest time. But I suffered with an auto immune disease called APLA and that came into play every time I get pregnant. So I had a couple of miscarriages. So, it was a genuine issue. I didn't want Viaan to grow up as a single child, because I'm also one of two and I know how important it is to have a sibling. Coming from that thought, I did explore other ideas as well but that didn't pan out well. At a time when I wanted to adopt, I had put in my name and everything was underway. But then, the Christian missionary shut down because they had a tiff with Kara. I waited for nearly four years and then, I was so irritated and we decided to try the surrogacy route. We had Samisha after three attempts. I had honestly given up on the thought of another child."
