2018 has seen a lot of lovely star kids making their mark on the silver screen. From Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter and now Sara Ali Khan, this year had a lot to offer. Speaking about Sara and making a debut with her first film, Kedarnath, we all know how well she is killing it with her confidence, poise and talent! Hardly has her first film, Kedarnath released, the star daughter is ready to make another killer performance as Rohit Shetty’s lead actress in his action-sequence, Simmba opposite Ranveer Singh! In a post-Kedarnath interview, we heard quite some interesting revelations from the lady herself about her star family’s reaction on her debut film and you know what? Sara’s mother, Amrita Singh had cried after seeing a few rushes of the film. In an interview with DNA, Sara had shared, “She [Amrita Singh] still cried in the climax, so that was a big one for me.”
And the latest one to finally connect with her former daughter-in-law was Sharmila Tagore! Yes, the legendary actress had actually messaged Amrita, congratulating her for her daughter’s stupendous performance! Sara shared during a media interaction, “Dadi is extremely proud. She is getting a lot of messages from people and she messaged mom which was a big one for me. I think dadi messaging mom, after you know... life, that we have, that was really something. That's amazing. If as a character, you can bring audiences together and as an individual you can bring your family together for 30 seconds also, that's something." Isn’t this amazing?
Well, this was truly anticipated as Sharmila ji was looking forward to the film much before its release. In an interview with IANS, Sharmila ji expressed her proudness for granddaughter, Sara Ali Khan. About her debut film and as a person that the Simmba actress has turned out to be, the proud granny had stated, “Yes, I am so excited about her debut (in the film Kedarnath). I am very impressed by her... though I don’t see why her self confidence should surprise me. But whether it was Koffee With Karan, Rajeev Masand, BBC - her confidence, humility and charm made me so happy. It’s so heartwarming to see her the way she has turned out. When asked what she’s doing in films after going to Columbia University she said the education was for her growth as a person and not for a career. She’s never tongue-tied. And how well she stood up for her father on Karan Johar’s show. Also as per a Bollywood Hungama report, Saif initially, was finding it difficult to watch his daughter on the big screen for the first time, inspite of his now wife, Kareena coaxing him to do so. Sara’s mother, Amrita Singh has watched bits and pieces of the film but her daddy hadn’t seen anything of the film. Director of Kedarnath, Abhishek Kapoor had sent parts of the film to him but still, Saif hadn’t taken a look until a long time. Any reason as to why is it so? As per the online portal, a source had revealed, “He is just petrified to watch Sara on screen. Kareena keeps urging him to watch Kedarnath. But, Saif keeps putting it off." When Saif was asked about the same in an interview, he had answered, “No I haven’t seen Kedarnath yet. But, I will very soon.” But they finally watched it sometime back! In an interview, Sara’s father, Saif Ali Khan, spoke about his nervousness upon Sara entering the film domain. He had shared, “(I am) A little nervous. Fear is the most driving factor in the industry. I am not looking down on acting, it's just it is not the most stable profession. And everyone lives in constant fear. And there is no guarantee that despite doing your best, you will succeed. This is not the life, any parent would want for their children." In yet another interview, Saif stated, “She has a lot of well-wishers around her, from her mother (Amrita Singh) to me, Karan Johar to everybody. She can seek advice from anybody. I am very happy that she is doing something she is passionate about and its a beautiful job."
Even Sara’s step-mommy Kareena Kapoor Khan, got all candid when asked about her relationship with Sara. Giving her the biggest and sweetest compliment, the Veere Di Wedding star revealed it all! In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Kareena had stated, “Sara is a rare combination of beauty and brains and that has happened to the Indian film industry after a long time. She can hold a conversation with anyone and at the same time give a shot in which she’s looking absolutely gorgeous. She has all it takes and I think she will be one of the brightest stars on the screen.
