Banoo Main Teri Dulhan actor, Sharad Malhotra has always been in the headlines, especially because of his personal life. Sharad was once in a serious relationship with his co-star, Divyanka Tripathi. But sadly, their relationship ended and it created havoc in the media. Then, Sharad dated Splitsvilla fame, Pooja Bisht and that relationship, too, couldn’t survive the taste of time. And now guess what? Sharad Malhotra is finally marrying a Delhi-based girl, Ripci Bhatia. Sharad himself had confirmed the news earlier and was quoted as saying, “Yes, I am getting married in the third week of April in Mumbai.” And now, we have more details about his April wedding. As per a SpotboyE report, “Sharad will marry Ripci on April 20. It will be a 4-day-long grand wedding at JW Marriot Juhu. Festivities will begin from April 18- which will include Haldi, Mehendi and Sangeet ceremonies. On April 20, the couple will first marry in a gurudwara and later take pheras in the evening.”
Talking about pre-wedding jitters, Sharad also added in an interview with SpotboyE, “I am a bit nervous, but that’s obvious. In the last 12 years, I have got married seven or eight times on screen, but this is going to be real. So, I’d say, I am more excited now (laughs). My parents are also very happy. What more could I ask for? My mother and sister have already started planning for the functions. Since Ripci is a Sikhni, there will be dholwallahs playing at our wedding.”
The Muskan actor further added, "I have also arranged for a top line-up of DJs, one of whom is a friend from Kolkata. My mom, dad, sister and brother-in-law will all shake a leg that day. Friends from the TV fraternity will definitely be a part of my wedding functions in Mumbai. It’s going to an English-themed reception."
Sharad also talked about his honeymoon plans and was quoted as saying, “While I love the hills, Ripci loves the sea. So, we are yet to finalise our honeymoon destination (laughs). After the wedding, I’ll be back to work. Maybe, we will plan something in the next few months." Sharad and his beautiful fiancée, Ripci visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar recently to seek blessings from God. Sharing the following picture, Ripci captioned the snap as, “Lifetimes ago It was you. It's still. You @sharadmalhotra009 Thankyou everyone for sending in so much love. For all the blessings. Lovely messages. And most of all loving SM so much. Love to all. #homesweethome #newbeginnings #smarmy #smarmyrocks.”
Revealing how he met Ripci, Sharad had earlier told Bombay Times, “When I was introduced to Ripci, I had just come out of a relationship and was going through a difficult phase. Initially, we would just exchange occasional pleasantries on social media. It was only after Ganpati last year that we got talking on the phone, which was after my last relationship ended. What connected us probably was our fear of marriage. In fact, Ripci travelled the world for six years to avoid marriage, as the pressure on a girl at her age was mounting. I would have loved to do that, too, but I was constantly working. It’s only recently that our families got involved after we spoke over the phone for a few days. Both of us instantly realised that this is it and decided to take the plunge.”
Sharad had also shared he and Ripci didn’t meet with the intention of getting married. He had revealed, “We didn’t meet with the intention of getting married. I have always feared to take the plunge, as I would freak out thinking about the responsibilities that would come five years down the line. I developed cold feet every time a relationship graduated to the point of marriage. However, after my last relationship ended, I took time out for myself and travelled just to introspect.
