Shahid Kapoor has always been an exemplar of a family man who is a perfect son, a loving husband and a doting father. Shahid broke a million hearts when he announced his wedding with a Delhi-based girl, Mira Rajput. Shahid and Mira got married on July 7, 2015, and a year later, they were blessed with their first child, Misha Kapoor on August 26, 2016. In 2018, Shahid and Mira’s family got completed with the arrival of a baby boy, on September 5, whom they named Zain Kapoor. Despite the busy schedule and tight-packed commitments, Shahid always makes sure to spend quality time with his wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor, children, Misha Kapoor and Zain Kapoor, parents Pankaj Kapur and Neelima Azeem and his siblings, Ishaan Khatter and Sanah Kapur. In a celebrity interview on Famously Filmfare, when Shahid was asked to name the most important person in his life, he didn’t take the name of his wife Mira Rajput Kapoor, or his kids Misha Kapoor and Zain Kapoor. He didn’t even say it is his mother Neelima Azeem, his father Pankaj Kapur or even his siblings. Rather, Shahid revealed that the most important person in his life is his manager, Akanksha.
Although we have been seeing glimpses of his four-month-old son, Zain through Instagram stories and posts by Mira and Ishaan, for the first time Shahid talked about his little boy in the same interview. Speaking about Zain, Shahid was quoted as saying, “Zain is a very disciplined baby, sleeps on time, gets up on time. Mira is a very sorted mom. So, no trouble this time." He further said, "The first time we had Misha we were very paranoid parents, so a lot of sleepless nights happened. So I think we were a lot more settled this time. Honestly, this time I had no trouble. She [Mira] is very mature otherwise she wouldn't have been able to deal with all that has happened in her life.”
When asked how his wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor deals with the trolls, Shahid Kapoor had said, “First of all, there is a generational gap between Mira and me. We are 13 years apart, so we come from slightly different generations. So the generation I come from isn't so affected by public opinion. That's weird because I am an actor but it doesn't affect me because it is not the end of the world for me. But for her, it was completely new.”
The Kabir Singh star added, “She got a lot of attention which she was initially very uncomfortable about. So she has learnt to get better at it. Initially used to get thrown off. She used to be like 'why so many people are saying all this'. Opening up about his married life, Shahid revealed, “You discover yourself. You discover your domesticated side as a man. It is a reality. You can't get through marriage without being an obedient puppy dog sometimes. It is required. It is part of the job profile. You want to live a happy life, you have to listen to your wife. without a doubt.”
On being asked what kind of a parent he is, Shahid retorted, “My wife tells me that I am a little obsessive and protective and that I need to calm down a little bit. I tell her that she is too casual. Having said that, we try and find the middle ground which I think is good for the kids because you need to have both types of parents.”
Shahid went on to add, “If both are too obsessive or both are too careless I don’t think that works, so you need to find that balance.” Accepting that he is a “cradle snatcher”, he reminisces the time when he first met Mira. Shahid recalled, “It was a lovely evening and light was falling on her face. She just turned towards me and smiled and said something.
