After all the speculations and conjectures, Bollywood’s adorable and beloved couple, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Kapoor confirmed the news of their second child. Shahid and Mira will welcome their second child in 2018 and they shared this news in the best way possible. Shahid and Mira took the help of their first-born child, Misha Kapoor to announce the soon-to-arrive addition to their family.

Shahid Kapoor and Mira Kapoor took to their Instagram a picture in which ecstatic Misha is seen lying on the floor alongside a chalked drawing of balloons with the words 'Big Sister' written on it. Shahid Kapoor opened up about their big announcement and shared his excitement to embrace fatherhood again. Soon-to-be-daddy, Shahid expressed, "Yes, of course. I'm very happy. We just felt like sharing it with everybody. Mira said she wanted to put it out on Instagram and I thought the photograph was really cute. It was a spontaneous decision and it just happened."
Shahid Kapoor bagged the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award (Best Actor) for his spectacular performance in Padmaavat, and the doting husband dedicated the award to his lovely wife, Mira. Shahid was quoted as saying, "This is my first award for 'Padmaavat' this year, so I am really very happy, and I would like to dedicate this award to my wife, Mira because she tolerated me for a year during this period and without her I wouldn't have been able to do this film. Mira Kapoor has been vocal about her wanting a second child soon as she would then start her professional career. When asked Mira, in an earlier interview, about why she is not working, she stated, “Because I am going to have another baby, and then decide.” Mira further talked about what is her area of interest to begin her career, “Yes, I would love to work, especially in a field that is creatively stimulating, but also allows me time with family. Perhaps something with food or lifestyle. I do not have a deadline as I am going to have another baby and then decide”. Mira Kapoor also said that she wants to spend time with her child and she loves being at home. She remarked, “I love being at home, I love being a mother to my child, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I wouldn’t want to spend one hour a day with my child and rush off to work. Why did I have her? She is not a puppy, you know. I want to be there for her as a mother, seeing her grow up cannot be quantified.”
Just like an ideal husband, Shahid supports his wife’s decision and he once shared, “Mira, who is just 22, would prefer to have a second kid soon as well. She wants to flip the norm, get the kids to a certain age and then be free to do what she likes.” In an earlier interview, Shahid also talked about expanding his family, and admitted, "I don't want to speak too much about it, maybe one or two babies will happen. Some of it has to be private. I want to soak it in and I want to be there. I have heard star kids complain that their parents were not there much in their childhood. I do not want to be that guy."
