But for the past few months, Shaheer was rumoured to be dating the Creative Producer and Executive Vice President at Balaji, Ruchikaa Kapoor and the duo had confirmed the same with adorable posts on their respective IG handles. On November 5, Shaheer Sheikh and Ruchikaa Kapoor had posted a confirmation picture on their respective social media handles, with a tongue-in-cheek caption. Sharing the first-ever picture together, Shaheer had written, “Here you go... after all the morphed pictures, thought of saving you all some time. #ikigai #madMe #girlwiththecurls.” Ruchikaa had reposted the picture with a heart and infinity emoji. If you have noticed, Shaheer uses the hashtag ‘ikigai’ in his posts related to Ruchikaa. It is a Japanese word for ‘reason to live’, indirectly confessing his love and commitment to his ladylove, Ruchikaa.
It was in November when Shaheer Sheikh had broken many hearts with the news of his marriage with ladylove, Ruchikaa Kapoor. In an interview with Pinkvilla, when Shaheer was asked when did he realise that Ruchikaa was the one destined for him, the actor replied with the details of his love story. In his words, “So, we travelled together. Generally, you feel like you can go mad, you can have fun, only when your friends are there, not with your partner. You think of fun, you think of your friends. But, even if we go to a hospital for a regular check-up we are crazy together, we are crazy together. So I felt like this is the right combination, I can be myself and I can have fun.”
Shaheer also revealed how he can be himself in front of Ruchikaa and can express his emotions freely. Talking about how she understands him, he stated, “People who know me, know the kind of person I am. For the world, I'm this person who keeps to himself and keeps quiet and someone who doesn’t really express. But, people who know, me who are good friends, know I am a mad man. I am a person driven by my emotions so I go crazy sometimes. So I can be that in front of her, I can be myself. During those trips, I realized yes, this is it. On November 27, 2020, Shaheer and Ruchikaa had taken the plunge in an intimate court marriage and post registering their relationship, the newly-weds had reportedly headed off to Jammu for an intimate ceremony with his family members. To announce their wedding, Shaheer and Ruchikaa had posted pictures on their respective IG handles. While Shaheer had written, “Zindagi khatm bhi ho jaaye agar... Na kabhi khatm ho ulfat ka safar. #chaloDildarChalo #ikigai”, Ruchikaa had captioned her post as “Off on an adventure called Forever #HappilyEverAfter #ForeverPerson #Ikigai #theGirlwithcurls #MadMeNow.”
On November 24, 2020, Shaheer had taken to his IG handle and had shared an adorable picture with Ruchikaa. In the picture, he was seen holding Ruchikaa’s hand while she had laughed her heart out flaunting her ring.
