Shah Rukh Khan has always charmed everyone with his charm. However, it is his wife, Gauri Khan, who rules his home and heart. Shah Rukh was just 18 when he met Gauri for the first time at a party. Bowled over by her beauty, Shah Rukh could not resist from asking her for a dance. However, he followed Gauri to Mumbai, without knowing her whereabouts, and after a frantic search, he found her at the seashores of Mumbai.
Shah Rukh and Gauri’s love story has faced a lot of ups and downs. Once Gauri had said ‘yes’ to Shah Rukh’s proposal, the next step was to convince her parents, who were against their inter-religion union. But eventually, they had given the nod to their relationship. Finally, on October 25, 1991, Shah Rukh and Gauri tied the knot as per Hindu rituals.

While scrolling through our IG feed, we stumbled upon an unseen throwback video of Shah Rukh Khan talking about his dating days. In the video, Shah Rukh can be heard saying that he was 18 when he started liking a girl, whose name was Gauri, who resided in Panchsheel in Delhi. He further stated that since he could hardly meet her, he used to go to her locality and sing the song, ‘Gori tera gaon bada pyaara, mai to gaya haara, aake yahan re.’ He also stated that Gauri never liked it.

In an old interview, where Shah Rukh and Gauri had graced the talk show, Rendezvous With Simi Garewal in the year 1997, the couple talked about the initial days of their relationship. When Gauri was asked whether Shah Rukh has always been protective, she replied that his protectiveness was more of possessiveness. She had stated:
“It was possessiveness. It has turned to protectiveness. He was disgustingly possessive, he was sick. He wouldn’t let me wear a white shirt because he thought that it was transparent. It was a kink in the mind, I think.”
We all know how films play an important role in Shah Rukh’s life. King Khan had also gone on record, in many media interactions, and stated that if ever he is asked to make a choice between his career and Gauri, he'll leave films for her.

To celebrate World Theatre Day in 2019, Shah Rukh Khan had taken to his IG handle and posted a selfie with Gauri and captioned it with a romantic note, which could be read as:
“Being with you is like being on Stage. There’s so much light, I can’t see anything else. Curiosity to know New, Humility to accept u will never know if fully...makes u an actor. #WorldTheaterDay.”
