Bollywood actor, Shah Rukh Khan, who started off as a boy-next-door, slowly made his way as the undisputed king of hearts and fondly called as the Badshaah of B-town! It’s going to be 27 years since a dimpled young man walked onto our screens and made us believe in love at first sight. Shah Rukh made every simple love story into an extraordinary affair. He made us fall in love with his many hit characters like Raj and Rahul. However, the queen that constantly ruled over his heart was none other than his wife, Gauri Khan. It’s been close to three decades since the two tied the knot. And, after all these years, the couple continues to give us butterflies with their lovey-dovey selfies.
On March 27, 2019, Shah Rukh celebrated the World Theatre Day, and as we all know he had begun his acting journey from theatre, it holds a huge part in his success. The actor took to his Instagram handle and posted a lovable selfie with the director of his life and wife, Gauri, and captioned it as, “Being with you is like being on Stage. There’s so much light, I can’t see anything else. Curiosity to know New, Humility to accept u will never know if fully...makes u an actor. #WorldTheaterDay.” Take a look at their picture below:
While Shah Rukh Khan has gone on records to accept that he is always a businessman and knows the importance of money, but his priority has always been his family. In a throwback interview with Stardust, Shah Rukh had talked about his wife, and had shared, “My wife comes first. And I can tell you this much that if ever I am asked to make a choice between my career and Gauri, I'll leave films. I mean I would go insane but for her. She's the only thing I have. In another interview, Shah Rukh had opened up about his early marriage days, and had revealed, “I remember the first night when we actually came to Mumbai after about five-seven days. She spent that evening fully dressed; she wore chooda and Indian dress, and came to Film City and was there till 6 where Hema Ji was directing my film.”
He had further added, “One of the actors got late as it happens in the shoot and we wrapped by 8 instead of 6. There were no mobile phones, so I sent her a cab as I didn't own a car and said, 'Please come over and sit here because I am really sorry, this has taken a little bit. We take stardom as we take each other's success and failures with all love and care. It is all acceptable now. In a 2017 interview with DNA, Shah Rukh had got candid about his wife, Gauri, and had shared, “Moving to Mumbai was a radical change for us. Not only for her, for me too. Not for any other reason but because we were uprooted from the city that we were born and brought up in and suddenly put into a new world — that was so different from anything real. I think Gauri and I, both, dealt with it. There were days where I would be explaining to her things that I didn’t understand. There were days when she would stand by me and say, ‘Okay, this is how it’s gonna be.
