Words don’t do any justice to the stardom and love from the world that Bollywood’s Baadshah, Shah Rukh Khan has received in his 25 years of journey in this industry. There are a few stories in this world which usually begin with, “It is said” or “I read it somewhere once”. Such is the story of King Khan. Agar kisi chiz ko dil se chaaho to poori kaynaat use tumse milaane ki saazish me jut jaati hai… It is said that before he became the superstar that he is today, SRK once came to Mumbai, stood on the Marine Drive and said, “I’ll rule this city one day”. Though it wasn’t a cakewalk journey of 25 years of Shah Rukh, he achieved his dreams with dedication and support from his family and fans. This is the reason why Khan always makes sure to greet everyone from Mannat, his home in Bandra, Mumbai, and celebrate special occasions with his family and friends.
Shah Rukh turned 53 on November 2, 2018, and following the tradition, like every year he greeted his admirers from Mannat and celebrated his birthday feeding cake to wife, Gauri Khan and playing Mono Deal with his girl gang. Sharing a collage from his birthday celebrations, Shah Rukh wrote, “Fed cake to wife...Met my family of fans outside Mannat...now playing Mono Deal with my lil girl gang! Having a Happy Birthday. Thank u all...for this amazing love.”
Shah Rukh Khan’s dear friend, Karan Johar shared a picture of SRK feeding his birthday cake to Gauri and wrote, “Happy birthday bhai!!!! Have known Gauri and you for 25 years and it will always be the most special relationship of my life!!! Thank you for being family and for all the memories ...and here’s to many more!!! May #zero be your biggest and hugest blockbuster!!!”
Shah Rukh’s close friend, Farah Khan Kunder too shared a lovely capture with the birthday boy from the sets of Om Shanti Om and captioned it, “Happiest birthday @iamsrk it is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be silly with them. love you. In a throwback interview, Gauri revealed the most annoying habit of her husband, Shah Rukh and said, "He spoils the kids rotten! It’s because he lost his parents at a very early age and always feels the need to pamper his own because he didn’t get it as much. He wants to give them all the happiness in the world because of which, sometimes he goes overboard which is such a headache for me. All I end up doing is sit on the side and complain, but he doesn’t listen."
Speaking about being a kid with his youngest son, AbRam, Shah Rukh shared in an interview with DNA, "I try and get him all the toys because somewhere, it’s also a way of living my own dreams. Maybe, even I wanted those toys when I was a kid, but we couldn’t afford it back then. Now, when I play with AbRam, I live those moments which I wanted to, but possibly couldn’t."
Shah Rukh shares a very friend-like camaraderie with his children, Aryan Khan, Suhana Khan and AbRam Khan. When asked in an interview that who does his little ones go to with their problems, he shared, “I’m not very inquisitive or gossip about people’s lives, including my children’s. If they want something, they will just give me a call. Sometimes, they talk about their personal lives, but I know they limit what they tell me. It’s about aankh ki sharam.”
He further went on to say, “I don’t pry too deeply. I see the mom (Gauri) and the kids talking, and she asks some really pointed questions, and I’m like, ‘How can you ask them this?’ They may answer or say, ‘I don’t want to tell you’. I don’t ask anyone questions about their life — whether it’s my children or anyone else. I don’t like being pried on either. I can tell you a lot of generic things about myself, but my personal feelings are extremely private.”
Shah Rukh concluded by saying, “So, I assume the same about others, my children, even more because they would have the same structure of DNA that I have. But they do come and ask me things, sometimes about studies and sometimes some really strange things about life. Otherwise, I give them the same kind of advice like my character in Dear Zindagi.
