If anyone even mildly follows Indian television shows, he knows Anita Bhabhi. Yes, we are talking about Saumya Tandon from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai fame. If you don’t follow TV, you have seen her in Jab We Met as Roop, Geet’s sister. Saumya has been in the news lately owing to the rumours of her quitting the show, of which she has been a part of since 2015. Reportedly, she was ill and rumours started that she is quitting the show. However, Saumya took to Twitter and clarified, “Hey thanks for the concern, I had a liver infection so was on a leave for a week, have been shooting in Naigaon for Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain since 3 days”.
And now, even after her Tweet, the rumour mills are on the run as media reports suggest that she is quitting Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai to start a family. A source close to the Times of India told the media giant, “Saumya has been part of the show for the past three years. She now feels that it’s time to move on and try out new things. Starting a family is also something she wants to focus on”.
But when Saumya was contacted for the same by TOI, she was quoted as saying, “I am aware that rumours about me planning a family are doing the rounds. My reply is that I would love to have a baby. Motherhood is a beautiful experience and I surely don’t want to miss out on that. In fact, if it happens, I will share it with everyone and enjoy it when the right time comes. As of now, I have no news to share. These things are in God’s hands. She further added, “Also, my producers are so accommodating and sweet that they had once told me that even during pregnancy, I can continue doing the show, and later go on maternity leave. This is a wonderful change in the entertainment industry, and I really applaud that”.
But hey! Wait a bit! Would you believe that another report suggests that Saumya Tandon is expecting? Yes, as per a report in Hindustan Times, Saumya is two months pregnant and her baby bump is slightly visible these days. Her husband, Saurabh Devendra Singh, has now become extra cautious and hence, the 33-year-old actress will be shooting till next month.
A source revealed to HT, “Saumya has not been keeping well for some time and was on leave for a few days. From what we know, she is expecting. And, she and her husband are making sure that nothing goes wrong and are taking extra care to avoid any complication. She is also careful about what she is eating”.
Shubhangi Atre Poorey, Saumya’s co-actor from the show, who plays Angoori Bhabi, talked to HT and quipped, “I neither know about her leaving the show or being pregnant. Motherhood is the best thing that can happen to a woman but I don’t know anything concerning her. She was on a break for health reasons and I am yet to meet her”. For the uninitiated ones, it must be mentioned here that Saumya Tandon got married to her boyfriend of 10 years, Saurabh Devendra Singh in a private ceremony in December 2016 in Mumbai.
Well, if the reports of Saumya Tandon’s pregnancy are true, we can’t wait for her little baby to arrive!
