For instance, in 2019, Sara Ali Khan was invited to Global International School in order to share her experience with education and life. While addressing the crowd, Sara revealed that it was her dream to study at Oxford University, but she got rejected. The actress wanted to teach an important lesson to the young students that no matter how hard you fall in your life, you can always get up because there’s always light at the end of the tunnel. Sharing how disappointed she was back then, Sara said:

"I got rejected from Oxford University which is in England, which was my dream and I couldn’t get in and I thought the world was going to end that day. I didn’t know what to do."

Further, in her speech, Sara Ali Khan admitted that after she got rejected by Oxford University, she was absolutely clueless in her life, as it was her dream to be at Oxford. But, the actress added how she talked to her mother, Amrita Singh, who made her understand that there’s a whole world out there. Soon, she got admission to Columbia University in New York, and her life changed instantly. Sharing how those three years spent in New York were the best years of her life. Sara said:

"I called my mother up hysterically crying and said, mom I got rejected from Oxford and I don’t know what to do and then the common apps came in and I got in Columbia and those three years I spent in New York… I mean I would give an arm and a leg to do it again."

As soon as a clip from Sara Ali Khan's speech made its way to the internet, trollers wasted not a single second in order to make fun of the actress for not getting selected for Oxford University. One user commented, "Oxford mae Nepotism nahi chalta memsaab", referring to Sara’s family background. It was disappointing to see people making fun of Sara when she taught students how not to get depressed after facing a setback in life.
