It was on October 30, 2018, when Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik had embraced parenthood for the first time with the arrival of their ‘Baby Mirza Malik’. Do you know why Izhaan adds ‘Mirza Malik’ as his surname? A few months before delivering her firstborn, Sania had attended the UN Women India's launch of #MujheHaqHai campaign event, wherein she had revealed that their child won’t just take his/her father’s family name (i.e. Malik) forward but will have ‘Mirza Malik’ as the surname. On October 30, 2019, Izhaan Mirza Malik had turned 1 and to make his day super-special, his star parents, Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik hosted a birthday bash in Dubai. Sania’s father, Imran Mirza shared glimpses from the birthday party of Izhaan and in a video that he posted, we could spot Sania helping her little one cut his Mickey Mouse-themed birthday cake while Shoaib held him in his arms. To make Izhaan Mirza Malik’s birthday extra-special, everyone flooded social media with wonderful and heartfelt wishes for the little one. To begin with, it was his star mommy, Sania Mirza, who was the first one to post a lovely wish for her aankhon ka taara. Sharing a picture of ‘just born’ Izhaan, smiling on his first day in this world, Sania had written, “Exactly one year since you came into this world and became our world... you smiled the first day you were born and continue to spread smiles everywhere you go... my truest, purest most amazing boy... I LOVE YOU and I promise to be by your side until my last breath... Happy Birthday my little angel. I pray Allah gives you everything you work towards and desire and continue to grow into the most loving and gentle boy that you already are... InshaAllah... In her next post, Sania Mirza had shared a video of an excited Izhaan, sitting on his khaala, Anam Mirza's lap, and had captioned it as “We’ve been looking forward to today for a bit now #Izzy." The proud daddy, Shoaib Malik shared a picture from the birthday bash, holding Izhaan in his arms, and had written, “Salgira Mubarak to my little man. May Allah bless always you my jaan” followed by a heart emoji.
Sania Mirza’s baby sister and Izhaan Mirza Malik’s khaala, Anam Mirza too had penned down a heartfelt wish for her ‘Izzy baby’. Posting a picture from the birthday bash, cuddling Izhaan in her arms, Anam had written, “You came into our life a year ago and life hasn't been the same. Thank you for teaching us how to love unconditionally, thank you for teaching us so much patience, thank you for reminding us of all the little blessings of life and thank you for letting us kiss you so much. You're a blessing in every way and beyond. I love you izzy baby, one year of absolute joy. So proud of every baby step (literally) you take.” Anam’s soon-to-be-husband, Asad had also taken to his Instagram handle and wished the little munchkin. He had written, “Happy birthday izzu. Wish you the best of health and happiness.”
