When the news of ace Tennis star, Sania Mirza and cricketer, Shoaib Malik embracing parenthood flashed the headlines, their fans couldn’t hold their excitement. On October 30, 2018, the couple had gotten blessed with a little munchkin and the star parents had decided to add both the father and mother’s surname to their baby boy and had named him Izhaan Mirza Malik. Since Izhaan’s birth, Sania has been riding high on motherhood. From taking care of all his needs to sharing all the antics on social media, Sania never misses an opportunity to shower her love on little Izzi. In 2019, Sania had taken to her Instagram handle and had posted a mesmerising black and white picture of herself with son, Izhaan, wherein they were both gazing at the camera. Posting the picture, Sania had written, “My boy. Thank you @avigowariker for capturing the most beautiful picture. Now you have become my forever and ever favourite #PostPackupshot.”
Izhaan had recently traveled to Dubai and his excitement knew no bounds when he had met his baba, Shoaib Malik after seven months. On September 15, 2020, Sania took to her IG handle and shared an adorable picture with her baby boy. In the picture, Izhaan looked like a cotton ball straight out of his bed and his innocent smile made our day. Along with the picture, Sania wrote, “Perfect mornings with my @izhaan.mirzamalik.”
As we have been documenting about Sania Mirza's family trip to Dubai, on September 11, 2020, she had taken to her Instagram stories and had shared two beautiful pictures. In the first picture, we could see Sania with her husband and cricketer, Shoaib Malik and their little prince, Izhaan. Whereas, the second picture had featured the mother-son duo looking away from the camera. Atop of the second picture, Sania had written, "At sea. At peace @izhaan.mirzamalik." As the pandemic had separated the Mirza-Malik family, a few days back, the family was ready to reunite. Taking to her IG stories, Sania had shared a cutesy video of her son, Izhaan Mirza Malik, where mommy, Sania could be seen asking Izhaan, “Where have we come?” To which, Izhaan had replied, “Dubai”. She had then asked him, “Who are we gonna meet tomorrow?”, Izhaan, who was excitedly roaming in the room had said, “Baba” when probed by his mother. And later, on September 9, 2020, over Izhaan’s official IG handle, Sania had posted a picture of Izhaan holding the hands of his parents with the scenic background of Dubai. It looked like the family was enjoying the view of Dubai and the time with each other.
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Sania Mirza had talked about how she derived strength from her family, especially her son, Izhaan Mirza Malik during the tough phase of the pandemic. Sania had remarked, “I drive strength from my family, especially my son Izhaan. No matter how bad my day is, his smile makes everything better. I’m sure we all have that one person who makes us feel that way. Keep them closer.”
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Sania had talked about embracing motherhood and had stated, “A lot has changed after becoming a mother, your life changes, I think the whole focus becomes about the baby and prioritising the baby. Me as a working woman, I obviously want to get back to tennis, so I am trying to prioritise my time. It is the most selfless kind of love I have ever known, and it is the most amazing feeling I have ever had. My life has completely changed for the better. Ya, Shoaib is also playing quite a lot and is travelling so he does help whenever he can."
