After 3 years of marital bliss, Rohit and Ritika welcomed their beautiful daughter and on January 6, 2019, the elated father revealed his daughter’s name to the world. The right-handed batsman took to Instagram to share an adorable family picture with wife, Ritika and their firstborn daughter and captioned it as, “Baby Samaira”, followed by a heart emoji. While we were all waiting to catch a clear glimpse of Rohit and Ritika’s baby angel, on February 12, 2019, the proud mommy shared a video wherein Samaira can be seen smiling. Ritika captioned it with heart emojis. Another video was shared by Rohit Sharma as his Instagram story wherein the doting daddy can be seen having ‘fun time’ with his little angel. Just after 4 days into this world, Rohit had introduced his little baby daughter, Samaira to the world and shared the first glimpse of her with his fans. He captioned it as, “Well hello world! Let’s all have a great 2019.”
Rohit and Ritika completed 3 years of marital bliss on December 13, 2018. Sharing a beautiful picture from their wedding, the lovebirds wrote heartfelt wishes for each other. While the wifey wrote, “Happy anniversary to the boy who’s been lighting up my life for over a decade now. I honestly cannot remember my life before you walked into it. Rohit and Ritika kept the pregnancy under the wraps until she shared some blurry party night pictures on her social media handle wherein, she was seen wearing a loose white dress, which she teamed with a denim jacket and sling bag. And in those pictures, Ritika was seen flaunting her cute baby bump. There was no confirmation from Ritika and Rohit about the same, but guess the picture spelt the truth!
Sometime back, Rohit spoke about the idea of being a father and had said, "I cannot wait to be a father; it is going to be a game-changing moment in our lives. I am eagerly awaiting the moment of becoming a father. It will be a moment to change our life." He had further added, "When my teammates got to know that I am going to become a father, they were laughing at me. They were like you are going to be a father? The reaction came in because of the mannerism and the things I have done in my previous years. They think I am irresponsible, obviously in a funny way. But I am going to make sure that everything changes."
Reminiscing the first time he met Ritika, Rohit was earlier quoted as saying, “I was shooting with some senior members of the Indian team including Yuvraj Singh. When I met Yuvi in his trailer, Ritika was there. But Yuvraj told me straight away that Ritika was his sister and I should not even look at her.” Rohit dedicated his third double century to wife, Ritika as their second wedding anniversary gift. In the post-match interview, he had said, “I’m happy my wife is here with me on this special day. I know she would have liked this gift from me. She’s been my strength, she’s always been there for me.
