Genelia, who is now a hands-on mother to two children, has returned to the silver screen after 4 long years! Riteish took to Instagram to share a glimpse of his ‘baiko’ in his latest Marathi film, Mauli’s song, Dhuvan Taak. Dressed in a Maharashtrian fashion which she teamed up with white sneakers, Genelia looked ethereal dancing to the beats of the song. Here’s the video:
After sharing screen space together after 4 years, Riteish shared his feelings on this in an interview with Filmfare. Talking about the same, the Masti star stated, “Achcha hua shaadi kar li maine She’s too good. She’s come back on the screen after four years. The last song she did was in Lai Bhaari. But what a wonderful way to be part of the song. It’s difficult when you don't have a single line. She’s amazing.”
When asked why Genelia isn’t seen much in films these days, he was quoted as saying in the same interview, “That’s what I have been telling her but it's her decision. I'm hoping she does some nice Marathi films first because she speaks it well. She has already done films in various languages. I want her to do a Marathi film. I have asked two-three writers for good stories. Hopefully, agar kuch mile to maza aa jayega.”
Genelia too, had a ‘blast’, returning to the silver screen after a long time. Sharing the same video of herself in the song, the doting wifey wrote, “My God it’s been four years since I was last on screen .. I have actually forced her to do this song. It felt great to be dancing together after four years and that too on an Ajay-Atul composition. Hopefully the audience enjoys it as much as we did." Riteish and Genelia have been married for over 6 years, but their love for each other only seems to increase with each passing day. A recent black and white picture of the couple, posted by both Genelia and Riteish had some beautiful captions for each other. Do you know, this couple have been dating since Genelia was 18-years-old? In an interview, the doting hubby was quoted as saying, “I started dating Genelia when she was 18 years old and I have seen how hard she has worked. When we did our first film, she would shoot in the morning in Hyderabad, fly back to Mumbai, appear for her college exams and come back to the set.” The couple is now blessed with two sons- Rahyl and Riaan. Further speaking about parenthood, Riteish was quoted as saying, “I have seen her do all that and now I see her as a hands-on mother, it’s so amazing. She teaches me new things every day. Genelia helps me in being a responsible father. I do everything that any father would do for their children, like fetch them from playschool or change their diapers.”
In a throwback 2014 interview with Tribune, the Housefull star spoke beautifully about his wife. He was saying, “She acted with me in my first film. We first became best friends and then midway through the film, we started seeing each other. We were seeing each other for 10 years before we decided to get married in 2012. Genelia and I are one entity. Falling in love with your friend and that becoming your life is the best thing that can happen to a person. I love her energy and her smile."
He had further stated, “She will always put me ahead of herself, which is endearing. We are similar in terms of thinking. We like simple things and are not materialistic. For example, we both would like to go and eat bhelpuri. She initially ignored me and hated me, as I was the CM’s son, thinking that I would be arrogant. My father always taught me that the only thing constant in life is you being who you are; everything around you is temporary, be it power, hits or flops.
