When on June 14, 2020, the news headlines and social media had flashed the reports of Sushant Singh Rajput's demise by suicide, we were left shattered. It has been more than a month since his demise but we are still in disbelief and wondering what had led to Sushant take this drastic step in his life. Sushant's demise has not only paved way to the debate on nepotism and awareness of mental health, but it has left us with some unanswered questions like why Sushant felt suicide to be his only way out and what had bothered him to take this step.
July 24, 2020, is marked as the Dil Bechara day for Sushant Singh Rajput's fans and at 7:30pm, his last film will be premiered on the OTT platform, Hotstar+Disney. While the fans are eagerly waiting to watch Sushant's last film, his girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty too, expressed her excitement to celebrate the 'hero of her life'. Sharing a still of Sushant from Dil Bechara, Rhea wrote, "It will take every ounce of strength in me to watch you. You are here with me , I know you are... I will celebrate you and your love, The Hero of my life. I know you will be watching this with us."
To mark Sushant Singh Rajput's one-month death anniversary, his girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty had posted, for the first time since his demise, on her social media handle. Rhea had penned a long heartfelt note for her Sushi along with two pictures with him. Rhea had begun her note with "Still struggling to face my emotions.. an irreparable numbness in my heart . You are the one who made me believe in love, the power of it . You taught me how a simple mathematical equation can decipher the meaning of life and I promise you that I learnt from you every day. I will never come to terms with you not being here anymore. I know you’re in a much more peaceful place now." Rhea Chakraborty, in her emotional note for Sushant Singh Rajput on his one-month death anniversary, had continued, "The moon, the stars, the galaxies would’ve welcomed “the greatest physicist “with open arms . Full of empathy and joy, you could lighten up a shooting star - now, you are one . I will wait for you my shooting star and make a wish to bring you back to me. You were everything a beautiful person could be, the greatest wonder that the world has seen . My words are incapable of expressing the love we have and I guess you truly meant it when you said it is beyond both of us. You loved everything with an open heart, and now you’ve shown me that our love is indeed exponential. Be in peace Sushi. 30 days of losing you but a lifetime of loving you... Eternally connected, To infinity and beyond."
In another post, Rhea Chakraborty had requested the Home Minister, Amit Shah to initiate a CBI enquiry into the matter of her beau's suicide case. To seek justice and to be able to know what pressures prompted Sushant to take this step, Rhea had written, "Respected @amitshahofficial sir, I'm Sushant Singh Rajput's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, it is now over a month since his sudden demise. I have complete faith in the government. However, in the interest of justice, I request you with folded hands to initiate a CBI enquiry into this matter. I only want to understand what pressures prompted Sushant to take this step. Yours sincerely. Rhea Chakraborty. #satyamevajayate."
