Bollywood actress, Reena Roy was a well-known face in Bollywood, who ruled the silver screen in the 70s and 80s. While she was at the peak of her career, Reena had tied the knot with Pakistani cricketer, Mohsin Khan, in Karachi. The couple enjoyed their married life for some years and were blessed with a daughter, Jannat. After her wedding, Reena stepped away from the limelight, leaving her fans heartbroken. However, after some years, their marriage fell apart, and the actress moved back to India.
In a recent interview with The Times Of India, Reena Roy recalled how she had to struggle to get her daughter’s custody after her divorce from Mohsin Khan. Talking about the same, the actress shared that she did everything to get her daughter back and even sought the help of saints and sadhus to finally get her daughter, Jannat’s custody. After Reena received Jannat's custody, she changed her name to Sanam.

Further in the interview, Reena Roy revealed why she got divorced from her ex-husband, Mohsin Khan and stated that she wasn’t able to adjust to his lifestyle. Talking about the same, she mentioned that the former Pakistani cricketer wanted her to settle down in London with him and take British citizenship, but she was not ready for it. Reena also stated Mohsin tried to keep their daughter away from her as he thought that she would be desperate to see her daughter and would eventually agree to follow them to London and settle down there.
Further in the interview, Reena Roy spoke about her equation with her ex-husband, Mohsin and mentioned that he is a great father to their daughter, Jannat. Sharing details about the same, the actress revealed that Mohsin is in touch with their daughter and he's settled well in life. She prayed for his good health and added:
“He’s in touch with her. They share a close father-daughter bond. He’s settled well in life. I pray that God keeps him healthy and happy.”
Reena Roy made her debut in the Hindi film industry with the movie, Zaroorat. Later, she went on to do more than a hundred movies including the likes of Kalicharan, Nagin, Jaani Dushman, Apnapan and Aasha, among others. Reena was last seen in the film, Refugee, which was released in 2000. And after a hiatus of almost 20 years, the actress was seen on television after she returned to India. In 2021, Reena appeared on the singing reality show, Indian Idol as a guest and talked about her work and peers in the 1970s.

Reena Roy has undoubtedly done many superhit movies in her career, but it was her affair with Shatrughan Sinha that made a lot of noise back then. However, even after so many years, people still talk about Reena Roy and Shatrughan Sinha’s old affair. When Shatrughan and Poonam Sinha’s daughter, Sonakshi made her Bollywood debut in the film, Dabangg, people pointed out her uncanny resemblance with Reena Roy. Some had even called Sonakshi the lovechild of Reena and Shatrughan. However, in many interviews, Reena denied the claim, calling it a mere coincidence.
