Raveena Tandon was a rage in the 90s as she was hailed as the dancing diva of Bollywood. With her sizzling moves and charismatic personality, she burned the silver screen and made everyone her deewana. With some amazing performances in movies like Dilwale, Mohra, Laadla, Andaz Apna Apna, Raveena made a permanent place in our hearts.
More than her professional life, Raveena hit the headlines for her personal life. Her affair with actor, Akshay Kumar was one of the hottest topics in the tabloids. The duo was so much in love that they got engaged. However, things didn't work out between the two, and they called off their engagement.

Their broken engagement devastated Raveena, and she couldn’t come to terms with her emotions. In an old video, Raveena was seen addressing her broken engagement with Akshay Kumar and got emotional. The video, which is currently going viral on Reddit, saw Raveena talking about having sleepless nights. In her words:
“The time when my engagement broke I was jobless. I couldn’t see where I was going ahead. So I would go for long drives because I would have sleepless nights.”
In the same interview, Raveena revealed what made her strong and shared her life-changing incident. Elaborating on the same, the stunning actress shared:
“One night while driving, I suddenly looked at the other side of Mumbai with full of slums. And seeing each slum was like as if God was trying to tell me, ‘Issey zindagi kehte hai ki aap ek Mercedes chala rahi ho. You have two hands and legs. People call you beautiful. You have food served on your table. You’ll go back home, turn your AC on and sleep, but in those slums one drunk man was beating his wife while a kid was crying inconsolably outside. Another woman was covering the slum with plastic due to heavy rains.’ So I was like, ‘What’s not there in my life? Why am I crying?'"

It was in 1994, on the sets of Mohra, when Akshay and Raveena had met, and their love life had taken a turn. In a 1999 interview with the Stardust, Raveena had cleared the air on her engagement and why Akshay had, back then, kept himself tight-lipped about the same. According to her, Akshay was a rising star and had a huge female fan following. He was scared that he might lose out on his female fans and his Bollywood career might come to a standstill if the news of his engagement was leaked.
Later, Raveena met her Dulhe Raja, Anil Thadani during a business meeting. After a courtship of a few months, Anil had proposed to Raveena, and the two had got engaged in a low-key ceremony. On February 22, 2004, Raveena and Anil tied the knot in traditional Punjabi and Sindhi-style weddings and had begun their happily-ever-after.
