After months of speculations and conjectures, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are getting married today on November 14, 2018 (another wedding scheduled for tomorrow) at the heritage Villa del Balbianello of Lake Como, Italy. We have all been waiting for the photos and videos from their pre-wedding functions- mehendi and sangeet which took place last night (November 13, 2018). However, strict secrecy has been maintained at the venue. (Also Read: Deepika Padukone In Tears During Her Sangeet, Ranveer Singh Hugs And Makes Her Smile Again)
Reports from various media houses have been doing rounds. And the latest follow-up is that Ranveer Singh played dhol for Deepika Padukone during their sangeet ceremony. Yes, as per a Pinkvilla report, “Ranveer was in his element completely. His happiness was evident and he made sure that it is one of the most unforgettable events of his life.” His lady-love couldn’t help but get emotional and started blushing.
Another report has also suggested that during the sangeet ceremony, a mix of English and Hindi peppy tracks were being played at the venue. Considering Ranveer's Sindhi roots, the music had a Punjabi touch to it, and all the guests and family members grooved to the Punjabi dhol. Reportedly, Ranveer Singh took to the dance floor, danced in his element and sang the song, Tune Maari Entriyaan from his film, Gunday for his lady-love, Deepika. This track also happens to be Ranveer's favourite song. The DJ later also played old songs to create the mood with songs like O Haseena Zulfon Wali.
It must be mentioned here that during the same ceremony, during the legendary singer, Shubha Mudgal’s performance, Deepika Padukone got extremely emotional and broke down. Ranveer Singh consoled her, hugged her and made her smile again. An online tabloid claimed, “Shubha Mudgal was performing a thumri when Deepika Padukone got emotional and was in tears. When she broke down, Ranveer, who could understand her emotional state, walked up to her and hugged her tight and consoled his lady love. He ensured she was smiling again with all his crazy love antics.”
Speaking of DeepVeer’s sangeet, the couple has booked an entire resort by the side of Lake Como. And as per an India Today report, there are 75 rooms in the villa, and each room costs a minimum of 400 Euros per night (equivalent to Rs 33, 000). The place has its own Jacuzzi, spa, swimming pool and what not!
It must be mentioned here that DeepVeer’s sangeet ceremony reportedly also witnessed the musicians Sanjoy Das, Bobby Pathak and Firoz Khan, Harshdeep Kaur perform. Sanjoy Das earlier tweeted, “We have Reached Milan for a very special occasion of @deepikapadukone & @RanveerOfficial. I’m performing with @HarshdeepKaur along with Bobby pathak & firoz khan.” Harshdeep, on the other hand shared a selfie from her flight and captioned it, “Off to a very special place for an even more special occasion Arrivederci.”
Wondering about the wedding guests now? Well, earlier reports suggested that only a handful of people from Bollywood have been invited and that includes Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan. The report could be read as, “Given her deep bond with Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan who had launched her in Bollywood, Deepika was certain that she wants them by her side on the auspicious day. The couple also considers Aditya Chopra and Sanjay Leela Bhansali their mentors.” (You May Like: Nakuul Mehta's Wife Jankee Parekh Proposed Him And He Made Her Wait For 10 Sec Before Saying 'Yes')
On October 21, 2018, Deepika and Ranveer released an official statement regarding their wedding which went like this, “With the blessings of our families, it gives us immense joy in sharing that our wedding is set to take place on the 14th and 15th November 2018. We thank you for all the love you have showered upon us over the years and seek your blessings as we embark on this incredible journey of love, loyalty friendship and togetherness.”
Deepika and Ranveer will tie the nuptial knot in two wedding ceremonies- one in Konkani and the other in Punjabi-Sindhi. A source told a media house earlier, “Since Deepika is a South Indian and Ranveer is of Sindhi-Punjabi origin, the two families decided to follow customs practised by both communities. A South Indian wedding has been planned for November 14, complete with Kannadiga rituals. The next day will see the couple solemnise their relationship as per the customs of a North Indian wedding.”
Because of the tight security outside the wedding venue, reporters who have flown down to Italy have not been given an entry. However, one such reporter claimed, “The ambience at the event was electric. Ranveer Singh has enjoyed the most at the Mehendi ceremony. He danced his heart out while his lady love was busy getting the Mehendi done. Old songs were being played. First Shubha Mudgal performed, followed by Harshdeep Kaur. Romantic songs, ghazals and sufi songs were performed. Followed by a performance by Ranveer. He also danced on the beats of dhol.”
And another one said, “The security has been very strict and hence no photos of the bride and the groom have come out on social media. The phone cameras were sealed with stickers. Deepika’s family and Ranveer’s family too shook a leg with their kids. While Deepika got done a designer Mehendi, Ranveer Too has got done a little design on the hand with #DeepVeer written.” (Don't Miss: Deepika Padukone And Ranveer Singh's Total Wedding Expense Is Completely Beyond Your Imagination)
