After Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal’s December wedding, let your imagination wander if you're thinking about the extravagant that the Ambanis do for their son, Akash Ambani's wedding with his fiancée, Shloka Mehta. After the dandiya raas night at the Ambani residence, Antilia, wherein the much-acclaimed Gujarati folk singer, Falguni Pathak perform for the guests in attendance, the families along with their friends flew off to St. Moritz in Switzerland for a three-day pre-wedding bash. From giant-lit wheels, bumper cars, spiral slides, a carousel and an ice-skating ring to illuminated merry-go-rounds, sky displays and fireworks, the winter-wonderland themed pre-wedding bash is nothing less than a beautiful fete, where the bride-to-be and groom-to-be, Shloka Mehta and Akash Ambani arrived in a beautiful white chariot. B-town celebs, industrialists and sports maestros including Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor, Ayan Mukerji, Dharma Productions CEO Apoorva Mehta, industrialist Adar and wife Natasha Poonawalla, Vidya Balan, amongst others have already arrived at the venue. In a video posted by a fan club on social media, Ranbir Kapoor can be seen catching up with Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta, who looked gorgeous in a green sequinned outfit. Another picture of lovebirds, Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt and Malaika Arora-Arjun Kapoor were photographed having quality time together. As per a Mid-Day report, an American pop rock band, Maroon 5 will be performing at Akash and Shloka's sangeet ceremony. A source revealed, “Since Shloka and Akash are both fans of Maroon 5, the family thought it fitting to have them perform for the couple at the sangeet that will be held on March 8. The source further added, “Naturally, these two chartbusters have found a place in the set that the band is putting together for their gig. They are expected to perform for almost 40 minutes with other hits like She Will Be Loved, Makes Me Wonder and One More Night on the playlist. The team of sound designers that frequently works with Maroon 5 is coming down from Canada to check on the arrangements. Maroon 5 is known to charge anywhere between $1mn and $1.5mn for private shows. It will be an expensive affair.”
Speaking about the wedding itinerary, India Today quoted a source as saying, “The Mangal Baaraat will assemble at the Trident in Mumbai at 3.30pm on Saturday. From the Trident, the baaraatis are to leave for the Jio World Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex. A high tea will be hosted for the guests at Jio World Centre at 6.30pm on March 9. Akash and Shloka's wedding ceremony will take place at 7.30pm.” Apart from this, a post-wedding celebration will be held on March 10, 2019, and a reception will be hosted on March 11, 2019, for people belonging to the world of business, Bollywood, politics and cricket.
In a recent interaction with Vogue, newly-married Isha Ambani Piramal revealed that her twin brother, Akash Ambani willingly gave up his wedding dates for his darling sister. Isha had said, "Akash has the largest heart ever. He changed his wedding dates for me. He got engaged to Shloka before Anand and me, but he was like, “I’ll get married afterwards, you take my wedding dates.” He’s like one of the most—I don’t think there’s a word for it in English—“dayalu” humans in this world. He’s empathetic, gracious and gentle, just like Shloka."
Talking about her soon-to-be sister-in-law, Shloka, Isha had stated, “In fact, Shloka’s sister, Diya [Mehta Jatia] and I were in the same class in Sunflower and then in JB [Petit]. We have been best friends for over 25 years. Then when I moved to Ambani, I skipped a grade and went to Shloka’s class. So I’ve been like a third sister to them. I was thrilled with the engagement news.
