Rakul, who started her career with Yaariyan (2014), gained a huge name in the south with her spectacular acting skills. However, she always kept her love life away from the media glares. In an interview with the Deccan Chronicle, the actress had shared, “I never believed in Valentine’s Day as it’s a Western concept. Commercially, it is very good because people go shopping, but the real meaning of love is not that. Every day should be celebrated with love and it should be for the entire year, not just one day. It could be love between children and parents too.”
The actress is all set to make a comeback on the big screen with Ajay Devgan’s rom-com film, De De Pyaar De. In an interview with the Mumbai Mirror, she opened up about her love life, and stated, “In real life, I’m waiting to fall in love. For those who don’t know, earlier, Rakul Preet was rumoured to be dating fellow actor, Rana Daggubati, while she always brushed them aside. In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Rakul had talked about the speculation, and had said, “We’ve been hearing this for such a long time and [we] can’t help but laugh. This is just a rumour. Rana and I are very good friends. He’s there for me whenever I need him. I stay in Hyderabad, away from family, and there I have a group of 15-20 friends. Rana and I are a part of the group. So, we often hang out together and are neighbours, too. In the group, only two-three [people] are single, and we’re among them. And I think people tend to link those who are single.”
In the same interview, she had further added, “In fact, I often tell my friends, ‘Guys, find me someone, what are you doing?’ And they are on it. On a serious note, I want to concentrate on my work. When love happens, I’d prefer to announce it rather than hide it.”
She had also shared that she wouldn’t mind dating someone from the same industry, “I think someone from the same industry or profession would understand my kind of work.
