South Indian film superstar, Rajinikanth just tasted the immense success of 2.0 and he is all set to roar at the box-office yet again with his upcoming film, Petta. Before the film's release, Rajinikanth and his family visited the famous Tirupati Ezhumalaiyan temple in Chittoor to seek blessings from God for his film. But media reports have been suggesting that the purpose of the visit was not only to seek blessings for the film but also for Rajinikanth's daughter, Soundarya Rajinikanth's wedding. Soundarya Rajinikanth is reportdely getting married to the businessman-actor Vishagan Vanangamudi this year (2019). And hence, Rajinikanth visited the temple along with his family to give the first wedding invitation card to God and to seek almighty's blessings. Reports floating in the air have suggested that the engagement ceremony took place a while ago in a hush-hush manner amidst intimate friends and family.
It must be mentioned here that Soundarya Rajinikanth was earlier married to Ashwin Ramkumar, an industrialist and businessman since September 03, 2010. But irrevocable differences led to their divorce in July 2017. The couple has a son named, Ved.
Earlier, while talking to RITZ magazine in 2016, when Soundarya was asked about her reasons for parting ways with her husband, she replied, “I don’t wish to discuss it. Whatever decision has been taken wasn’t overnight and was after a lot of thought. It’s a very big decision.” Then she was asked how her superstar father reacted to her decision, she retorted, “He is a very supportive father and at the end of the day, he wants his child to be happy, he was the first person to say, ‘Do what is right!”
On being asked about her single motherhood phase, she retorted, "I wouldn’t even think twice. I am most proud to be a mom. I am very proud that I am able to balance my life in such a way that my son comes first for me and I am a working woman too." On managing her personal and professional life with a son at home, Soundarya said, “That is what life is all about. Life is about balancing and I love doing it. I spend plenty of time with my baby and always make sure I am with him for his meals and I take him to school. I have to thank my mother for making this happen for me, she’s a wonderful grandmother and loves her role to bits.”
Soundarya's mother is her inspiration more than her superstar dad. Commenting on the same, she had shared in another interview with the Times of India, "My mother. She is the strongest and the most positive woman you can ever meet. She is my everything for sure and is the anchor of our family. My father is 200% dependent on her. She handles multiple roles and has tremendous patience that I hope to get someday. She is now a full-time grandmother, with my sister’s two sons, and runs a school for 4,000 children. Also, with her two daughters who drive her up the wall and a husband who is a superstar, she has her hands full. She is the central figure in the house and is the boss."
How was growing up like in Rajnikanth's household and being constantly surrounded by such renowned names? To this, Soundarya commented, "We had a great childhood, even though my father was a really busy man shooting three shifts. My mother made sure we did not miss not having our father around and did not miss doing what children do at a particular age, for instance, going to Disneyland or Universal Studios. My mother came from an upper middle-class Brahmin Iyengar family, while my father is a Maharashtrian, born and brought up in Karnataka. He had lost his mother when he was six and his father, after my elder sister was born. My maternal grandparents gave us a normal upbringing not allowing us to ever think we were born with a silver spoon, though we were spoilt with too much love and got away with tantrums. Also, being our father’s children, if we are not humble, we are idiots. He will probably talk to the driver of the biggest man the same way he treats the big man himself. My dad is my hero. Even if it sounds clichéd, I am his biggest fan." (You May Like: Sushant Singh Rajput Can't Stop Praising Ex-GF, Ankita Lokhande For Her Performance In Manikarnika)
